Something that would shock today's audience for a sci-fi/action/horror?
-A slow scene, very slow: real life speed, for example. Something that lets you understand what happens without slowing it down.
-No explosions
-No CGI
-No teen romance
-Compelling dialogue
Bonus
-No terrorists
I reckon this would be far more shocking that the chestburster!
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

If you look up her filmography you can see that she already had a few movies under her belt before the Millennium Trology, and most of them were dramas.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

For some perspective, that comment is coming from someone who played the role of someone getting violently beaten and anally raped in a very brutal fashion, so I would think this scene in Prometheus she is referring to must be extremely nasty !!
PS: For those who might not know, Noomi Rapace played the title lead in the ORIGINAL Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo. Not exactly a movie for the easily squeemish.

And before that, some more disturbing roles.

Sometimes actors get so emotionally involved in their roles such as Heath Ledger (RIP) a la Joker style is disturbs them mentally.
Especially if their doing such an involving role as Noomi Rapace. RS took alot of effort and time into developing Shaw as a character and preparing Noomi to fill her shoes.
RS is gonna definitely 'one up' the chestbuster scene. Its gonna be more brutal and distubing tthen Alien
..or so i hope *crosses fingers*

@CanadaPhil nice to have another canadian on board with Prometheus!
which roles are u referring to Nox?

Yeah the scene probably shows Shaw with AL Gore ...how could it get any creepier ?????????

@1darkjedi
-"Yeah the scene probably shows Shaw with AL Gore ...how could it get any creepier ?????????" What you mean?
April 11, 2012
Uh oh...looks like there's an Al Gore fan in the house. LOL
Anyways, I'm thinking the scene they're talking about is the c-section scene. That's why we dont see David or anyone else assisting in the c-section. (Only the machine/scanner.) Because Noomi was the only actor present for the filming of that scene, as mentioned by Ridley in the interview.

Yes, just Noomi and the poor guy in the squid costume...
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

If that is "THE" scene. The disturbing scene that Ridley has talked about then why wud they reveal such a thing so blatantly in the trailer?
I mean we see her in the operating capsule
we see noomi with c-section scarring on her stomach
we see the squid thingy
Seems a little too obvious for Ridley Scott to reveal his major scene of horror... Or maybe its something else altogether? :O

@MarcoBot
I actually hope you're right as I want something even more shocking. But I really think the c-section is going to be it.
The original trailer for Alien also had a quick glimpse of the chestburster scene. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEVY_lonKf4) Granted the quick glimpse is before the Alien begins to tear through Kane's chest.
Also, lets remember that although Ridley may want that scene to be a complete secret, the studio may want to put a few seconds of it into a trailer to entice fans.

@draekus; Well, keep in mind that thing had to get in her somehow. I think THAT might well be the real disturbing scene, how it gets inside her.
Wat

I think that it can be the c-section scene. We know it happens, but we don't know what happens exactly.
For Alien, the actors knew there was going to happen something, but they didn't know how it was going to happen, and in the Alien trailer we see Kane with convulsions (though I admit that scene doesn't necessarily hint at what's going to happen).
Edit:
there, I was writing this post and draekus beat me to it, I fully agree

blah blah...don't make the movie a PG then if it is 'so disturbing'...this is nothing but nonsense, if this scene is disturbing, I mean really, I will eat my pants
total hype

@Svanya
You make a good point. Maybe its how the seed is planted in Shaw...?
Then again, if the seed is planted in a casual (and mutual) sex scene between her and an infected Holloway....that won't be "the scene".
@NoXWord
Great minds...
W/e the scene is I hope it doesn't get (too) spoiled before the movie.
