3 ships - what's going on?

In the 13 minute (twixtor) slo-mo version of the IMAX trailer...at around 8:19...We can clearly see that all three ships are somehow interacting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LqA1rHtapo The Derelict is upright, the prometheus craft is in the foreground aimed at the Derelict,...and we can clearly see the Disc Shaped ship fly right between them headed toward the surface of the planet. I just find it interesting that there is apparently some giant action taking place involving at least three separate species...

No, there at least five temples, that look identical and if they are, there will be at least five ships. Watch the IMAX trailer at :14. This film will not directly go to ALIEN, it will hint at the connection so the ships won't end up at LV426 or what ever James Cameron numbered it. It's a different film to ALIEN lets all get over it.

It's the escape pod ejecting from the prometheus with Vickers and maybe Shaw on board before the ship crashes into the derelict. WAY already been discussed!

No, there are at least six temples, counting the Predator Temple, and thus seven ships. You stand corrected. However, it is ship #4 that appears at 8:19, most likely the Facehugger ship judging from its size, on its way to LV-345 where it will infect the Space Jockey who will crash land the Derelict there (after having crashlanded it on LV-223).

Also if you look at the new diagram of the ship, it shows 2 disc shaped "ejectable lifeboat modules" in the back. http://www.prometheusnews.net/movie/diagram-uscss-prometheus/
