The iSperm...

Hi all, I'm new to this board, I posted this on another Prometheus forum, wanted to get your opinion on it... Look at the Giger drawing of the Xeno life cycle. The pictographic of the xeno life cycle starts at the top of the image with a circular object with radiating beams, like an explosion or a sun or something. Like the big bang.  Then an expanding triangle 'flows' from it, with time passing at it goes down and the angle expands.  It starts with a worm wriggling into an eye - Holloway.  Then it moves down to the egg containing the facehugger.  Then the process we know of with the facehugging and chest busting occurs.  People have often wondered where the eggs came from. Even though Cameron had a Queen laying them, what if there was no queen? There wasn't a Queen in the original? Scott originally filmed a scene whereby humans were converted into facehugger eggs - this we know.  So, what about this. In Alien, in the derelict on LV-426, once they go down the hole, the crew finds a mass of eggs, from which a facehugger leaps. What if the eggs were all formerly space jockeys which became infected with the eye tadpole? Or as I propose to call it - the iSperm.  What if Holloway, infected with the iSperm, conceives cuddles with Shaw and then converts into an egg which creates the facehugger. The triangle from the top down shows a passage of time with each stage of the Xeno life cycle. It starts off with an iSperm and then the next stage is a Xeno facehugger egg.  We know that this drawing has relevance to Prometheus because the bottom two lines of hieroglyphs on the left hand side of the egg at the top exactly match the hieroglyphs on the left hand side of the humanoid in the ceiling mural (posted above) in the cave discovered by the Prometheus crew.  So let's examine the evidence... We have a Xeno life cycle which starts off with an iSperm.  The Prometheus trailer shows Holloway getting burrowed by an iSperm.

@Hephaestus : it definitely appears to be intended to represent the same "culture" or "writing system."

@ Hephaestus - The writings are the EXACT same. heres a comparison I made a few days ago for another thread. Another member here noticed they are the same first before I did so I wont take credit for spotting it first - (You will have to Right-click and then choose "view image" to see it properly.) And you might as well post the images. I see absolutely no reason at all why it wouldnt be OK.

To me those things in the back ground are Embryos... Now somehow some Organism, or some Parasite or something else, seems to infect and change the DNA of the Human Crew, well Fifield and Holloway, we seem to see about 3-4 different types or stages of the Worm Organism. Now What ever it is, apears to rewrite the Human DNA to create a Mutant or some other creature. Now those Humans are fully developed right, meaning that the entire Human DNA/Geneticis have to be rewritten. What happens if the Gene/DNA Changing Organism/Supstance manages to infect a Human Embryo at the early stage. Note that the Human First Stage Embryo is near enough the same as most animals on Earths, see that image. At this stage the Embryo has a long way to develop into a Human. So thats less DNA to be rewriten. Meaning instead of a Human Hybrid/Mutant, a Embryo could be changed into a more pure form/organism and hence the Squid Baby of Shaws. I think maybe the Squid would be the Alien Xeno progenitor, and maybe thus what happens between that Organism maybe unleashed against the Space Jockey will explain what goes on in Alien. Who knows maybe the Cargo is the Canisters/Urns as if its the Eggs then that means the Xeno already exists prior to the crew landing on LV223. Which then begs why did Ridley and co say this movie is how the Mommy, meets the Daddy?

@Hephaestus ... I love your theory mate ... I do have a few issues with the actual Life Cycle drawing though ... The worm thing that looks like it's going into a possible eye? does so on the other triangle images ... so maybe it's meant as a design thing ... it gives the eggs a tail, sort of ... I think the Life Cycle was really only meant for that particular species depicted in the Life Cycle drawing ... and so NOT for Humans (obviously) ... because the image of those humanoids are specically marked (Biomechanically or whatever) ... therefore when humans interact with that Life Cycle, we get 'you know who' (Xeno) ... :) ... I also think that 'eye' is some form of alien type female genitalia ... therefore is a totally different species to the blokes with the gas masks on (SJs yeah?) ... they are the worker ants if you like ... but I just find it funny that his mate is there sayin' it's your turn for the hugger ... lol ... it seems very mandatory ... I'd like to think that Ridders money shot would be a scene with Shaw metamorphosing into that female(?) creature (in the Life Cycle drawing) but in true Giger style, as in 'shocking' ... @Dave ... Like it ...

To me where you mention the iSperm coming out from the sun.... if you look, to each side is a leg. Basically representing a female (somethings) reproductive organs. Perhaps the iSperm converts its host to a creature capable of producing eggs rather than into an egg itself.

@Chairman Meows....I prefer that theory. I really can't stomach the thought of Holloway being transformed into an egg...seems far too cheesy for me.

@Chairman Meows ... There is a leg on the left but it is an arm on the right ... hence the head tucked in top right and fingers bottom right ... You guys ARE looking at the ALIEN version Giger redrew for the film yeah? ...

@Hephaestus, it's OK as long as it isn't a copywritten item, as far as I'm concerned the Internet was created for the sharing of those sort of things, so go nuts, it's usually if we are asked to take anything down (normally pertaining to anything to do with Prometheus is when we get asked to take down images) but feel free to PM any of us if you're unsure ;-) the mods are myself, craigamore, spartacus, rick or snorkelbottom, BugHunter is the sites admin :-D did I forget anyone? I hope not. Need more coffee........

Here ya go ... just knocked this up for comparison of the TWO Life-Cycle drawings that are out there ... the big difference is the change from a normal astronaut type humanoid (in the original drawing)? ... to the presumably SJ's (in the Alien movie drawing)? ... I know the markings for both are the same but I think for the Alien movie they were going along with the SJ's being the hosts, more so, as opposed to any other species? ... that's what I was on about above ;) ... The mural "arms/legs" is very reminiscent of the derelict. It is asymmetrical too with some weird tips. After looking at these life-cycle murals and thinking of the derelict, maybe the derelict is the bio-factory where these custom aliens are produced.

I think a more likely chain of events is that an infected Holloway infects Shaw's egg who gives birth to te alien.

Fantastic post Hephaestus (like your name - Greek God of the Forge). The bit about the worm in the eye atop the Giger-glyph and the Hollloway silver eye worm is genius, well spotted. I'm fascinated and hopeful that the serpent/worm motif so prevalent in a LOT of Giger's work may feature in Prometheus. The insect analogy has no place here in my view.

To me that drawing in both acounts shows. Derelict ship that has Eggs or Creates Eggs (now there is a thought) then from these Eggs the Face Hugger is released due to interaction with what looks like Man in Space Suit and Space Jockey in both images. This then leads to the Chest Burster. As for Holloway.... maybe but then it would not be the early Holloway, maybe Holloway changes into something maybe its him that the Tenticle thing that we see going after Shaw in the one scene. Maybe for all we know the Space Jockey scene near Shaw is not a Space Jockey but indeed Holloway being changed into one? Who knows.. I do think that the scene/way Shaw becomes Pregnant is the MONEY SHOT shocking scene and not the already seen C-Section thats not as disturbing as the Chest Burster Scene. Now if Shaw had the Baby the Natural way and the crew member who plays midwife sees it come out that would shock her/him and be shocking but a C-Section well whats shocking about that apart from the look of the actual Organism/Baby pulled out which we have already seen and thus no suprise. Also the key word is Noomi Rapace, has said 1) The Scene was Private just her in it. 2) It gave her nightmares 3) Its a Embaracing and Private scene. Well C-Section does not fit that to me.

@Dave ... I have to agree with Shaw's C-Section scene ... A C-section seems odd for a shock ... natural birth yes as it's more shocking because she has to 'pass' it? ... but ... if ONLY Shaw is in that scene then no mid-wifes or anybody else would be in that scene helping the 'baby' out ... so we're back to the MedLab self operating table where we 'currently' see no one else there apart from Shaw? ... something else maybe as/more shocking? ... Also ... in the Life Cycle drawing the cycle is actually going from top to bottom ... so I can't see that the worm/tail is going up the an eye and then back down ... so to speak ... wouldn't make sense for an outsider to read it that way ... and that surrounding humanoid figure/ship (to me) type outline is either laying an organism into an already produced egg ... OR it has laid that egg ...
