They're probably all dead, or they disappeared in some way or another. They made humans to be hosts for the goo which contains the genetic makeup and essence of the space jockeys. They want us for the revitalization of their race. The ampules are like their versions of cryo-sleep pods. They're in stasis. They left clues for us to go to their world to unintentionally revive them. The ship was left behind to later go to earth and finish the job by assimilating all of humanity. maybe.

I have to agree with you on this Chimera, I mean why would these so called "gods" even have to wait for us to show up, if they are so advanced, just fly to earth anytime and wipe us out or do anything they want to do with us. If this is it, then I'm afraid a lot of people will be disappointed!

Okay, Necro, I want you to consider this. We decide to colonize a planet that resembles hell as we know it in the gospels. We take our most sinister bio weopons to this planet and we know there are other alien species in the univers because, hell, we help to create them. We decide not to keep a lockdown on these fierce ungodly weapons even though we know the dangers of what they can do to other species and us as well but ah the hell with it, we are risk takers. We die, they die nobody lives and now the universe is endanger and all of the civilizations we created are to as soon as they get smart enough to follow the star charts we left them on their cave walls as a warning not to come but have no Idea that that is what we really meant because we wanted it to look like it could be an invitation! lol. This is just stupid for ANY writer to put on paper.

They didn't count on us becoming quite advanced ... in probably a short amount of time (short to the SJ's) ... therefore we turn up ... knock on their door ... they think "OH SH!T!" ... no cup of tea and all hell breaks lose ... we therefore find our creators ... we create a nighmare ... we have to stop the nightmare ... and be home in time for cornflakes ... what's wrong with that? ... That's just me ... and that's how I see it ;) ...

LOL, okay! I just don't like it for a plot! I think I would pass on going to see that one in Imax 3D. I have already seen the G rated goldy locks and the three bears and it never really got my appetite wet for a sequel! LOL

If you listen to what the writers have said every character has their own agenda, I believe the plot to be a lot more complicated than some one taking something and is probably more akin to the crew landing and basically F**king around with the SJ's . Possibly some one under direct orders from Weyland do something retarded, such as David who is probably actually getting a long well with the SJ's but is forced by his "Father" Weyland to steal and sabotage them in some manner. It could be anything really

@Chimera First of all I never said that the goo is a weapon. I think it contains the essence of the space jockeys but it needs a human host to manifest their true forms. The guy at the beginnig of the trailer may be a human transforming into one of them. We were made as a plan B for the space jockeys in case their race ever goes extinct. Humans are, in a sense, primitive space jockeys. We act as shells or suits for their minds to inhabit, kind of like transferring a human mind into an android. They want to last forever, and this is how they make sure it happens. The space jockeys left all their technology and artifacts laying around for the first humans to use once they become the space jockeys, for example: space ships, space suits, more ampules. I also think that the space jockeys only created us, that's why we look like them. I doubt that they made any other civilzations. We are what matters to them. This is all speculation of course, and it will likely be false, for the most part. I just highly doubt that the space jockeys will suddenly emerge from the shadows, Its not like something Ridley would do. Just Look at how the orginal alien developed. I think they will be revealed in a more gradual way like this, which I actually find much more frightening. The idea of all of humanity being created simply as future hosts for an unfathomably older and more powerful intelligence is quite disturbing I'm not sure how the xenomorphs and squidy guys play into the story yet, perhaps they come about by human (or android) hands. Or maybe they are what killed off all the space jockeys in the first place. Anyway, I'm probably wrong. Or maybe not... I'm sure there will be a good explanation. We will know soon enough. The writers talk a lot about Chariot of the Gods,the whole concept of Aliens on earth etc.-One theory within these circles is that they use humans to bread because they have evolved and have lost the ability to reproduce so they use abductees as living incubators,then remove the fetus during a 2nd abduction then release the abductee with little to no injury. So here is a thought, far fetched but oh well.We humans figure this out,not wanting to cause a panic,the government says we are invited by them.The cover would be to get some in the scientific field to jump on board for knowledge of the scientific community,then have special forces on board to assess or fight.As for Weyland,the whole series is based on corruption,so he could be an elaborate front.Just a thought.

as much as I'd like the opposite to occur, I believe we're gonna be let down by the storyline/plot for Prometheus. While not a Lost fan in the slightest, It seems Lindelhof(spelling?) served everyone a huge letdown at the end of Lost. The bells, whistles, cgi and such will keep us intrgued but, I REALLY hope the rest lives up to the hype. **FINGERS CROSSED**

The SJs came to Earth for a picnic. They left their roadmap behind when they were packing up to go home.

Maybe some kind of calamity befell the jockeys on that planet, hence the bodies laying around. If all but a couple people at Area 51 got wiped out, it wouldn't be so secure anymore. We might be looking at a Hadley's Hope situation here.

What if. 1st theory... we overthrew the sj's somehow and they were pissed at us and they wanted to punish us... Theory 2nd lv??? Is like the bermuda triangle of space....and no beings really know whats going on their....just think the crew of the mary celeste but in space.....and maybe they send signals in more ways than one one being mind to mind.....the oracles/whitchdoctors/wizards..ect yadda' made a note of their dreams and visions hey presto i like this idea.....
