MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 1:40 PMthe point of this topic is maybe just to tell people tht when they open a topic with new images and spoilers, please alert in the topic title.
I guess I'll just have to forget about this website until the movie comes out because i hate when they spoil it for me. Reading a random topic and boom theres an unseen, new image from the movie. Not fair. Some of us dont want to see those. But yea i know, keep away if u dont want to spoil it, good point.
Well i see u guys in a month. There will be no surprises left if i keep comin back here..
peace

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 8:07 PMTake care Spacejock, and enjoy the movie.
I have warned my small army that will be in attendance on launch night with me to make sure to stay off this site, facebook, twitter, etc for the week before. Most of them were shocked to learn that the movie launches first in the UK, and enraged by the fact that they would have to avoid all forms of social media to avoid getting spoiled before they get to see it.
I myself will be saying ciao on May 1st to avoid anymore spoilers, and sadly unliking and unfollow the site on facebook and twitter to give me a bit of a blackout.
But I will be looking forward to returning & joining in on the fun after I get to see it!!!!

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 1:52 PMIt's a good point.
And I was also wondering what happens when this thing is released and people start seeing it, some before everyone else, now that's going to be some pretty shit - I suppose, you're right: best thing will be to stay away, also...
See ya. Enjoy the film.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 2:34 PMForums like this are about spoilers and speculation , its simply ridicolous to come here and hope to avoid them ... i bet that one year after the realease there will be people saying "ohhh noooo i was planning to see it in 2020 for my 40th birthday and you did ruin it all to meeeeee .nooooooo ( darth vader voice ) ".
This in not a generic movies site ...this is a forum of fans about the upcoming movie ...its natural to have spoilers and speculations all over the board ...even Bughunter dont put a spoiler tag near the news

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 2:40 PMthat's very true too Frantz and I would happily differ to whatever the community consensus was.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 2:41 PMsorry just need to check something here, when did we decide the SJs are Predators ?????

"thereyouareJonesy"
MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 2:45 PMok scrap that just read the Predator rubbish and well it all sounds like rubbish to me !!. I mean as if, sure as the sun comes up in the morning there wont be a Predator in this movie

JP
MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 2:54 PM@thereyouarejonesy....just one last 'spoiler' for the OP to think about before he signs off the boards. sorry - just my sense of humour getting the better of me...

JP
MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 3:06 PMstill TMI, Shinobi...captilazied HOHOHOs are clearly an indication that you were very happy with it...cut to searching threads youve contributed on to garner any information on what it all might mean..perhaps even youre own fan forum and boards setup?
(...meanwhile, SpaceJockey is extremely unhappy that its all just one big crappy Predator prequel, damn you fan forums!!!..)

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 3:09 PMIm still pissed that the space jockey reveal is a predator. Its spoiled it all for me now. Its not going to be a surprise.
;)
Just kidding.
See you in a month, my friend.

MemberDeaconApr-19-2012 3:15 PMI guess when you have a Web Forum dedicated to Prometheus you going to get that, the only way to avoid is just check the news section.
Anyway there are not many spoilers on here, most is just speculation by people (myself included) trying to peace together clues from Trailers amd Images that Fox has released.
They are thus not really Spoilers, just people who have a keen eye or over analizing the Images, Trailers (in slow mo) and Interviews.
I would think anyone who actually has any real spoilers will off course say so in the topic, and the real time to worry is when some have actually seen the movie.
i.e the UK and France will get to see it before the US so lets hope we show some respect to our friends in the US... and not give the plot away.
But saying that some are moaning about the movie not being shown in the US, well i say it makes a change the USA usually gets them first and on the (The Thing Forums many spilled the beans before UK viewers even saw the Movie).
For me after the UK release any Yanks... sorry ;) And Americans would be better off avoiding to look at any threads especially ones like... " just come back from seeing Prometheus"
And remember while a lot of us so far have speculated this and that, i think Ridley has not gone to show or give much away in the Trailers and in Interviews seems the cast have a gagging order on certain things.
And Ridley maybe playing us up and lying about certain things, and dropping some things to throw us off track with the odd Red Herring.
Or so we hope so...
I think when we see the movie in 50 days or what ever, there will be a lot of suprises as do how things go.
And just as Shaw says "we was so wrong" i think will be something many of us who have speculated this and that could end up saying.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 3:29 PMI kinda had the same issue before the release of the Tron sequel, but, to me, more information, builds more interest, equals more movie-goers, equals more revenue, equals more sequels which mean I'm happier.
Have the trained eye such that it knows when to tell your finger to hit the back button if you think you're spoiling the movie for yourself. This site is going to keep me going for the 50 some odd days till the movie is released. I'm not going to be able to get everything the movie has to show me during my first and only theatrical viewing. I'd rather go in -informed- and have an idea as to what to look for then go into this flick completely unprepared.
I read all the books for Star Wars 1-3 and Lord of the Rings before seeing the movies. I had an enhanced experience having done this such that I was able to focus on other aspects of the production as opposed to the guy next to me that was having to deal with everything all thrown at him at once.
It's a matter of preference, but I agree that posts with spoilers should be noted in the topic name.

FREEZE!
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 3:40 PMagreed completely. I know at some point even I need to decide when it is my "blackout" time for new information. I'd hate know everything going in for sure. I suppose since the UK gets to view the film before us in the U.S. is about the time I'll take a week off. Wouldn't mind dropping in to say hello without spoils though! Maybe a heads up for those who haven't seen it would be extra nice.
As soon as I see it though, it's on! lol
