MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 10:13 AMThis film is going to be Exactly Like ALIEN for half of it at least I think, And in this half of the film, like someone leaked a long time ago, one of the female cast members by accident I think did this...The Crew is going to be chased around their ship until they all are dead except for 1 or 2 members.
I think half this film is going to have that now infamous "slow methodical burn" to it and we will watch one by one as they get taken out and that thing develops into some sort of predecessor to the original Xenomorph...and at that point, we will see Shaw, rescued or somehow she got back on Board Prometheus to try to escape that planet, and this is where we see that creature she is hiding from behind that glass...
I think this film might end like Alien did as well, with a final confrontation between our protagonist and that creature!!! I think that scene with Shaw is the very DNA Ridley is referring to because the creature suddenly looks bi-pedal and more like the original Xenomorph.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 10:31 AMWell it can't be Prometheus she gets back on because it will have been destroyed from ramming the Derelict.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 10:59 AMO.k., but 1 thing, we know now it Cannot be Derelict she is ramming, not possible, because the Derelict we have been told now had to make a soft emergency Landing and not a Crash Landing, we know this now because of the interview we saw yesterday.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:07 AMI don't know...I just don't know. The pacing and feeling of Alien was great, and it worked for the all alone in space type story. This movie seems grander in scope, although they are of course stranded, so to speak. So to me it's hard to imagine how it can be so methodically paced with all of the plot lines it seems like are happening, ie SJ's, Engineers, David, Shaw, Weyland, creatures/xeno evolution. If the crew is being chased around their ship, wouldn't that be the Prometheus? Shaw wouldn't have to find a way to get back to it if this were the case. If we try to go by hints in the trailers, she may get stranded after the Prometheus rams the SJ ship. Then who knows? Weren't there hints of a second human ship? You're probably right on it coming down to a 1 or 2 vs 1 tye conflict with an evolving xeno type lifeform. I don't know. All I know is everyday I get more excited to see this movie, and thinking like this about how the story is going to unfold makes it even worse! lol

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:18 AMI think Shaw was/is on the planet investigating when all Hell breaks Lose and somehow makes it back on board the Prometheus by which time the creature has developed quit a bit to the point where it looks very very familiar and we sere her behind that glass, that Has to be the END of this film. However, I have been wrong before and will make sure I am quick to admit it when I am in this case as well.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:20 AMVickers will be there at the end.
And in my opinion, so will
1.Shaw
2.David
3.At least one fully formed, fully connected space jockey. Taken out of stasis because of some sort of transgression by the crew at some point in the film.
By the end of the film, we will understand why and how the original derelict ended up on LV-426, but it will make no appearance in the movie.
There are a several, perhaps millions, of derelicts, or "Croissants" as Mr. Scott calls them.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:22 AMhe did in fact say that
"Croissants", LOL... being in Montreal and bilingual I can really appreciate his European Flavored expressions, he's a Hoot and I love him so dearly !!!

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:28 AMthe movie is going to end with shaw in the arms of the creature ... cough cough ... you are mine he will say to her (romeo & juliet) ... lets be together forever .... clap clap ... romantic

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:31 AMI can see how that could be the case Spartacus. If so, when does the collision occur? At the very end? When does she have her "violation/baby"? I don't think she would go exploring after that. Like Necrofan, I believe our fumbling around will entice an SJ to rectify the situation at some point. That could mean taking us, and the escaped/hatched xeno-type out of the picture.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:33 AMWell, Here is another food for thought idea for you all....
What if the Sheeet really hit the fan say about 3 decades earlier!
That would have been when the first FTL vessel the HELIADES ventured out.. to basically the same area as Zeta Recticuli I believe.
Now, what if its this FIRST mission, that when discoverd by the ENGINEERS sets off a conflict between warring factions if you will... as the discovery of the HELIADES will confirm that there is a race of "HUMANs", that the guys who thought they were in charge were not aware of at all !!
That is what the Prometheus crew then stumble upon 30 odd years later... the aftermath of a "battle" between clans or their "servants" that ended with a nearly apocalyptic event on LV223.
The original Derelict had already been launched to take care of us on Earth, but NEVER arrives because something unexpected had entered into the equation to cause the Derelict pilot/crew to be overcome by their own Human "doomsday" device.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:47 AMGood call Canada Phil, but I see that previous war, and the original mission of the derelict found on LV-426 was probably more like a million years ago. Maybe, and this is pure speculation, around the same time one of them first arrived on earth.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 11:54 AMHey Necro...
Yes, but what I think throws everyone all the time is that they are literally taking Dallas' sort of uninformed "fossil" comment as FACT.
But the way I see it now, in 1979 no one realized they were making a film that was going to set off a movie franchise and lead to 33 years of speculation.
RS can really do anything he wants now to try to tie all this in together.
One thing is certain though.. As each day has gone by, it has become apparent that there is a REAL reason for virtually eveything that has been placed in the Weyland timeline.
The only things in the timeline that are now currently left unexplained are the HELIADES FTL science vessel notation (ONLY 1 SINGLE ENTRY on this)and some of the weapons development points... (I think there are 6 or 7 entries on development of the "STORM" rifle along with its special ammunition that works is ALL atmospheres AND a vacuum, together with targeting attachments for said rifle !?!?!?... At least 7 flipping entries on that stuff alone!!)
So something tells me said "Storm" rifle is going to make an appearance at some point during Prometheus.

MemberTrilobiteApr-26-2012 12:02 PM@canadaphil - I hear you on the fossilization point, even stated it in a thread a while back, but some people wouldn't listen?!?

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 12:48 PMENDING 1 - everyone die but they save earth ( Blue explosions ...sorry i couldt resist ) ... more realistic ending ....it dont ruin the franchise canons ...however it ruin a bit possibile sequels
ENDING 2 - some survives ( Green Explosions ) ... good cinematographic ending , best box office results and leave room for sequels ...however its hard to reach a "totally good ending " without being predictable and cheesy.
ENDING 3 - Bad ending ( red explosions and Shepard die )..everyone die and the menace is growing ... great for sequels ...not so great for box office ... risk to be cheesy as much as the good ending .

Yes that would make sence, but maybe he means Millions of years old in how old the Derelicts are as a creation and maybe not how long the one is landed on LV426
Also if they set off years ago to head to Earth to wipe us out but never made it as far as Lv426.
Why could the Jockeys not set off and try and do us again, why wait Millions of years untill 2095.
But one other point you made, makes sence and something i thought about and that is that the Space Jockeys maybe never new about us on Earth, or maybe they do but we was one of their Jockeys little secrets created by one of them without the others consent.... They then punished that Engineer but did not punish us as we as no threat. Untill they realise we now have the ability to create synthetic life, and space travel and also now know where the SJ homeworld is.
This is when they decide we have to go.

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 1:58 PMOne thing I think we are all missing, that after we all get to see this film, we will all have more questions than answers. The forum will live on way past the premiere of the film

MemberOvomorphApr-26-2012 2:05 PM"like someone leaked a long time ago" - you mean that ridiculous fake story about "skeletal monstrosities" eating the crew in the first 28 minutes?
"predecessor to the original Xenomorph" which is chronologically unpossible considering that the derelict from Alien was landed on LV-426 millions of years before the events of Prometheus.
"somehow she got back on Board Prometheus" - tricky once it's been destroyed, but movie magic an all that.
