has anyone else noticed the modified PROMETHEUS road scene in the new featurette that was released yesterday, take a look at the great looking difference from the first teaser trailer that came out back in November anyone else seen any other significant changes in these images we have all now grown to love and scrutinize, if so, please post some pics thanks

Bingo. I saw it without seeing; the ringed planet in the back was itching something in my mind. Bravo! We are in the world of post-productions...

Looks a shade darker too. I remember reading that 3D had to be shot with more light, but then would be darkened digitally for Prometheus.

I know this is not very important but what the hell

@shardy I think that your photos are in fact two separate trips back to prometheus (clouds in the sky can mean another day or another time) But who knows, maybe they are just modifications and editing ...

you make a valid point, perhaps that could be the case with these particular images that i have been fixating on can't wait to find out how this all plays out

@Shambala, "@shardy I think that your photos are in fact two separate trips back to prometheus (clouds in the sky can mean another day or another time)" Humm...I don´t think so. If you look carefully, you will see that the mountain line behind the ship is different. It could be the effect of a different perspective, but I think it´s not because the positions of the rocks in the soil are the same.

@centrosphere Yeah, it is possible that it has nothing to do with two trips, in fact as maybe Shardy says is just a design change or editing like this:

Yeah but this model is thicker and wide and the "hammerhead" has been partially modified. It does not look much like a croissant, looks more like a donut LOL

Yeah, it's just rotated 180 degrees in the second image. Check this out, now with more color coding...

Maybe they thought it looked better falling that way? Or who knows, maybe they rendered it the first time landing upside-down after it rolls when it was supposed to be right-side up (or vice versa) and they changed it for continuity reasons.

First I was the first to spot this a while back... 1. its the same shot amended in post production... 2. to look closer to the original Derelict in Alien. 3. its being rotated 180 degrees. 4. the ground below has also been amended to match.

Anyone else think that the explosion on the juggernaut is against the wrong aspect (along one of it's arms) and therefore not likely to be Prometheus in impact with the ship? Trailer footage of the Prometheus impact shows surface features on the juggernaut consistent with the center of the "U"'.

GCI is extremely expensive and it is plausible that they had extra budget and wanted to change certain pictures. Sometimes the production crew sees something that would make a more profound impact to the viewer. The first pic showed clouds in the back which is a cheaper scene to create but with a left over budget adding in the planet in the back ground makes it more epic, especially, in the 3D. The great thing of GCI is it's much easier to recreate it on a computer than reshoot a whole scene again once the movie is done. Good observations TS!
