MemberOvomorphApr-27-2012 11:15 AMDavid is a jewish name, i.e. king David, and his lineage is (in jewish tradition) where the messiah will come from. Christians interpret this in a very different way to orthodox jews, and think the messiah offers everlasting life. I just mentioned this in the Omega Croissant thread and after a search on the davidic line produced nothing i thought i'd start a thread, feel free to delete if its redundant )(apologies in advance)

MemberOvomorphApr-27-2012 11:40 AMi was reading the weyland timeline and noticed the first box said weyland was the son of a professor of comparitive mythology, david appears as the one who killed goliath, and of course the davidic line in general. I doubt it's an accident at all. All the other robots had regular names, but they didn't have a weyalnd to try and keep alive.
David is reminding me of weyland smithers haha

MemberOvomorphApr-27-2012 3:50 PMI found the observation made awhile back about how every android in the series has a name that starts with a letter in ascending order. Ash, Bishop, Call, David...etc. so on and so forth. Can't remember what thread that was in and not really sure what came of it. Even if it was accidental or of no consequence I still find it curious.
