Any of you think that this "snake-cobra-hugger-tail " is actually a larger version of the tiny things david is smiling at, at the top of one of those urns; in the Russian featurette they look like worms in oil.

" too symmetrical" What´s wrong with simmetry? Most living beens display some kind of simmetry. It doesn´t even need to be one of these cherished "bio-mechanical" things that this forum likes so much.... It looks like it was sending out a warning by uncurling itself, and may have felt threatened when the dude reached for him. Anyone think maybe if the guy didn't reach for it, it wouldn't have lashed out? Oh, and I think it looks more like the thing that burst out of Kane, the first stage of the Xenomorph.

im reminded of the table of mythical elements on the weyland investors info. it had mythical elements like carmot and eitr. eitr was a substance that created all life in norse mythology which was said to be very poisonous and was secreted by a giant serpent. i could be summarizing a bit, but i think these things were put on the site to give us an idea of their influences for the story. hell, the movie could even explain that our ancient beliefs were based on actual alien happenings. i think the black stuff or whatever is inside of the ampules, could be eitr or the movie equivalent.

odmanout, that eitr/serpent connection is a superb theory. I've always believed that some of the more outlandish mythologies have some grounding in actual events/creatures.
