Nice shot at 2:30 of the Fifield mutant with an axe in the back of a crewmate, this is going to be a "grownups" film.

My best guess is the last 8 or 9 minutes that has been alluded to as 'connective' to Alien, plus close to an hour that no one is talking about and no footage has been revealed.
Fox and Ridley has everyone chasing the rabbit and it's working. Why show us all this and remain totally buttoned up? You bet they're hiding.

This reel has revived my dormant interest - looks like this (very handsome) film could end up being harder-hitting than I'd supposed. Thankfully there's still an awful lot I can't surmise about the mysterious Engineers, SJs et al - I look forward to the revelations.

Watching the original alien and aliens trailers, I can't imagine what else can they do to scare us without falling into the typical scifi cliches but at the same time not complicating things too much.
for example glimpses of 4 keyplot scenes were shown in the original trailer.
finding derelict
kane getting facehugged
kane having the attack before getting chestbursted
ASh's malfunction"
However you do not see the xenomorph nor the eggs.
IN Aliens, it's more focused on the marines but we get a quickview of the alien queen.
Anyway we'll have plenty of stuff to come

It's an adult themed film, it was conceived as such with no compromises. It is an R rated film that was never in danger of being cut for a PG 13....that was all just smoke and mirrors and noise and phony outrage at the MPAA. It's laughable if not nauseating that Fox said recently that it would not be cut...they never intended to. As if they're standing up to the forces of censorship....gimme a break.
All part of the publicity. This film will be rated R.

Totally agree "Member", it will be cut though., don't forget the "Director's Cut" DVD which is sure to come as day follows night.

What's the average wait after the theaters....6 months? Ridley does really tasty things with his discs.

Yes, that seems to be what the bench mark is, in anyway Fox will want to max out so there will be a christmas release which will probably be suitable for "little people", then the cinema release with the directors cut coming down the line around the time the sequal to Prometheus is due for release.
Don't look for the director's cut for at least 18 months. Just look what New Line did to the fans with the LOTRs sets, cinema versions, extended cuts, blue ray cinema versions, who would want that?, then the blue-ray extended.
There's no lengths the company's will not go to max out, just look at Weyland corp!

I've posted a screen shot from a Spanish site that gives a November release. It could be just trying to draw hits.

Oh yeah LOTR..boy do I know what it is to buy..and buy...and buy...won't get fooled again
....buy.....buy....buy...

I got roped in with the LOTR re-release stuff. After buying all 3 DVDs and the "extendeds" on VHS, I said enough was enough. As we approach The Hobbit's release I may pony up for the Blu-Ray extendeds, but THAT IS IT!! (I hope)...LOL

The marketing is so top class because they want to sell this R rated movie to more people. If it was PG, I don't think they would need to put so much effort into website, virals, trailers, featurettes.
They're pulling out all the stops, short of inviting us to be part of a Theron-Rapace sandwhich (other sexual orientations or genders can replace with bread of their choosing), to get people to see their 150 million dollar R movie.
