Could that be an urn in the shape of the giant head perhaps? And why is it exploding? Intergalactic M80's in it's nostrils? No, scratch that, I don't think it's exploding, I think its BURSTING. Too much pressure on the exterior surface from whatever is inside expanding rapidly.........

ok, more awesome questions! as speculated by many forum fans, the "blue guy" is the space jocky? the head being taken out and exploded is not blue. seems very yellowy to me, maybe even more yellow then certain races of human skin. (especially mine, yellow under tones!) and btw "rickk" i have seen that frame before and it looks very weird, doesn't look like the helmet at all anymore. ty for the pic!!! very nice of you to post it. where is the space jockey head coming out of from the helmet before it explodes? the left obviously lol, but what part of the helmet, the eye? the ear hole? wtf?

Not sure you're looking at that picture right Bella... the object in the picture is the head, you can see two eyes, a nose and a mouth. The yellow stuff coming out of the top of the head is brainz or something....

i still dont see whats going on in the pic clearly , does anyone else? the yellowy stuff is exploding out but from where? and even the helmet doesnt seem to have the same basic structure as usual in this frame even if it is exploding , doesnt seem to be exploding according to the laws of physics .

rickk you are right, and i still dont see it the right way apparently. its reminding me of one of those optical illusion pictures. i cant make sense of it at all so far.

@belladonna yes i think your right.. I would not be suprised if this scene the cast had no idea it was going to explode well not like that, this would add the shocked cast moment that Ridley may have wanted to get in this movie like Alien. And the Shaw Baby is the Chest Burster Rival. As far as the Jockey Goes, i always thought a lifeform in a suit made sence after Ridley said so years and years ago.. All he has done is make that lifefrom more Human looking. Which may not settle with some, and who knows if Ridley had plans for them to look like us when he was planning this movie, maybe when they decided to tie in the Ancient Alien Creators and Prometheus elements did they then decide to go for Human. As many of those creation stories had Gods from the Stars create us in their image, and their Gods are depicted pretty much Human but about double or more the size. I do see the human shape in that scene, and its the same table and same crew that examine the Helmet.... i would bet they examine the Helmet put it into a Scanner that then picks up a head inside, thus they know its a helmet of some kind and they use some kind of laser to cut away the mask to try and reveal the head inside and its connection with the Statue and Mankind. Maybe the head and radiation from the Scanner and Cutting of the Mask caused a reaction and caused it to explode, but it does like a Cobra Xeno is lurking inside the Head and i think thats the same one that then goes after Shaw on Prometheus.
