Three ships, two temples?

So, who's in the small one? In the short sequence it does not seem to be bailed out like an escape pod but instead it looks controlled. Perhaps the Prometheus here is on remote-control?
The wide shot at the "boom":

clearly shows 2 temples and the wreck of the RT.-01 vehicle. That means that scene must be after the rampage at the hangar since there we still see the/one RT-01.
Further insights?

From the Prometheus blueprint, you can see that besides the escape pods there is a larger escape module that is capable of "limited flight", by what they must mean even interplanetary flight but not FTL flight. I think this is the "navette" we see in this footage.
Also, I think that what you call "RT-01 wreck" is the landed navette.

I think Janek goes down with his ship. He gets the rest of the crew off before the collision in the Escape ship. Vickers escapes in an escape pod.

If you check out the latest trailers you will see at least four temples.
The small craft is an escape/shuttle ship, from Prometheus, which it appears Vickers climbs into, also in the recent trailers. Also, it helps if you can steer an escape pod, it sort of makes it safer? The Narcisuss in Alien was a fully functional craft with a steering wheel.
It's pretty obvious this boom takes place after the hanger debacle, the Prometheus rams the alien ship.
Doh!

No I think thats the RT-01 - you can see the side door and the back wheel.
Good spot - we discussed this before and we couldn't figure out what it was

Vickers surely enters one Class A individual crew ejection pod.
I think Shaw is in the navette. Even if she can´t pilot, that´s plausible because the Class D Crew Escape Module has an automatic function:

Also, we can se only Shaw and Vickers running when the Derelict falls. I think they are the sole survivors...by a while.

@Enderwiggin: Yes, that's how i see it, too.
Regarding the navette: Yes, that's what (at least) Shaw uses. The escape pod of Vickers doesn't seem to be that large (one person barely fits in).
In addition, an escape pod / navette crash seems unlikely if there's an automatic function.

Enderwiggin,
Look at this:

This is Shaw jumping from the Class D escape module, in my opinion.
This is the RT-01:

It seems its doors don´t open quite the way to be seen like we see in the second image of the post...

yes gentlemen - very interesting, leads to 2 questions
How did the rover get thrashed?
What is in the bag she is trying to get back to the temple?

@centrosphere:
My take: If you look at the Prometheus "rear" you see that section of the set you posted in the middle of the ship:

Of course, that could still be the navette if this part is somehow detachable.
But the side panel doors of the RT-01 open the way the "crash site" shows it:

Just my 2c.

beammeupridleyscott,
_ the section of the ship you points to is very different from the navette; I don´t would rule out that the navette is at the rear end, but this isn´t evident from the geometry;
- you´re right, there is a third door opening to the side of the RT-01. But it opens in the middle of the lenght of the vehicle, and it´s shape is completely different of what you see if you magnifies the second image of the post. Also, it has a window:

Also, you can´t actually see any wheels.
May 02, 2012
Also the vehicle that Shaw is jumping out of it too big to be the RT-01. It has to be the navette.
May 02, 2012
I agree it's the crashed escape ship/pod. You can see in the first pic the engines pop out and look much like the doors on the RT-01.

@centrosphere
Hm, i concur. After comparing again:

i'd also favour the navette.
However, in this case the bag that Shaw carries while jumping out of the crashed navette misses later as she flees from the crashing derelict. Neither Vickers nor Shaw are carrying something while running away.
But then, in other scenes most crewmembers in space suits seem to carry such bags (many are even lighted from inside), so i guess it has no particular meaning.

beammeupridleyscott,
Nice work!!!
So there is no doubt anymore, some people escapes from the fate of the Prometheus lefting in the navette.
What is not completely good news for the humans in the end. We don´t know:
a) if all the bad guys are in the derelict;
b) if any of them survives the impact (the derelict seems to be in good shape even after the crash);
c) if the other temples have bad guys;
d) if there are other sets of temples around the planet.

I have been graciously convinced - definitely the navette, you can clearly see the shapes of the thruster shields and the antenna type things.
Why did it crash though? it's designed for atmospheric flight.
May 02, 2012
I don´t think it´s really crashed _ it has automatic piloting capacity. But I agree it doesn´t seems to be in its best days in the photo.
Maybe the automatic pilot failed and Shaw had to drive herself. Women....

Centrosphere, she was probably powdering her nose....
You need to look good for ones creators ;-)

I posted this image last week HERE ... as I was explaining some 'debris' ... but this shot shows you its the Escape Module ...
