ALIEN....the series

there's plenty of untapped potential within the aliens universe. but really they would just screw it up, as some of you stated, with crappy budget or ideas that conflict.

When I was a kid I heard in a quiz that they were going to do an Aliens series. I was so excited, but the actual answer to the question was NO. Big delusion back then, big relief now, I am really happy they didn't make a series out of it, AvP was more than enough to spoil it.

my guess is that a tv series would dilute the franchise. you also have to consider how expensive it would be to produce. the studio would undoubtedly muck things up with horrible cgi to keep costs down imo

and it would be too full of "original" ideas. thats what hurts franchises like this. the need for writers and directors to bring new things into the story, instead of just extending the original ideas. it takes us beyond the realm of our reasonable imagination.

If it was done right it could be great. But I think would make it animated if I was in charge. Not a kids show, still probably as violent as you can get for tv but animated so it does not lose the detail and is not full of horrible tv effects and story wise I would probably make it about the colony on lv 426 for the first third, second third would be a story following newt and the last third would be a recreation of aliens. Only because out of all the movies, aliens Is the one that could be a show, the rest are all too compact and short to be a show.

I LOVE Star Wars, but I can't stand that Clone Wars cartoon series. I did watch and buy the first DVD when it was just Anakin and Obi-Wan, but after a while it just bored me to death. I LOVE Tron and they're about to release the Tron cartoon series. I'm dreading it......

I consider the Clone Wars animated series the best thing to come out of the prequels. Battlestar Galactica was a TV series with a two hour pilot that they turned into a movie. Aliens the series would seriously suck. There's just not much material to make into an episodic format.
