You know your right lol. Even if we get into space and we come across cute things like this... [img]http://images.wikia.com/gremlins/images/b/ba/Gizmo-First.PNG[/img] Common sence would still tell you to be carefull even with cute critters, any cute fluffy alien lifeform could carry a virus a plague that could have serious implications... or it could be just like the little fella. You find him on LV616 take him on ship, give him a bath because he dirty then opps you now got 7 little cute critters, oh well bed time and then you awake to find they have raided the ships fridge and after midnight lol. Back to the movie though, yes looks like some high quality animatronics and they have a polished look. The Thing had some good ones and props but its such a shame they decided to polish over them with CGI to give more realistic look and thus then some of them had a unrealistic look to them.

I'm just really excited that they're using some puppets. I've come to the conclusion that my subconscious does not have the ability to suspend disbelief for scary stuff (jumpy, attack-y, bite-y monsters, specifically) rendered in CGI. The way the speed-racer facehugger works in Aliens (the way it's conceived and filmed) running across the floor with the tail flailing all the way is pretty damn brilliant. It's all in the "making of." That said, If anybody can use CGI effectively, it's Ridley.

yeah that guy is a moron for sticking out his arm but I quite like this cobra thing...creeps me out

I have noticed on the slowed down piece above that when the cobra/alien strikes, it seems to be a different scene to the tentacle going into someones suit due to the hands of the person involved being the opposite way round. IE different arms.
