Interesting but... The xenos don't seem to have a problem with reproduction and it's difficult not seeing the thrive in any environment so hard to see why they would face extinction.

Xenos are like roaches and when they are babies in their egg-sacs they can hibernate for huge spans of time. Imagine how unstoppable roaches would be if their eggs could hibernate. You would never be able to get rid of them.....EVER.

To be more on topic: I think we all know the "Big Xeno" is used to help wipe out a planet for the engineers "pre-terraform" and "pre-implantation" of all these lifeforms the engineers make---however, to do this they MUST have an easy way of destroying them, when they get ready to "seed" the new planet... Wonder what that is?

Well thats interesting and i think kind of right, but also wrong but thats my idea, and like cockroaches yes and no. Lets forget the whole Alien deleted Scene... If we take the Aliens route and the route of what we see in Alien. Then the Xeno would be able to reproduce provided it has a host. If you took a Queen put her on a Baron Moon she could lay a Million Eggs, with no other lifeforms for the Face Hugers to start the Xeno Cycle there would be no Xenos. The Xeno needs a Host.... Thats why the Derelict was taking the Xeno to LV426, now thats a bit close to LV223 if you wanted to quarantine a potentially deadly Organism and Bio Weapon. Ridley said that the ship landed, i then thought maybe a unplanned landing a emergency one.... then weeks latter Ridley again said the ship had to make a emergency landing on LV426 because one of its Cargo had got lose. Maybe he means it was going to use the Xeno on some other World, but one of them got lose and the Pilot had to land the ship on the nearest Baron World so as that the potential Bio Weapon could not find itsway to any unintended target or maybe back to their homeworld or outpost. This would show they are not a race who dont care where their Organism goes, they would not wantit getting to some Worlds that they had plans for or had already seeded? Maybe? My theory was simular, however that they was trying to quarantine the remainder of this creation or finding as far away from the LV223 outpost but something went wrong. Imagine if on Earth we created something that got out of hand, we then quarantine it on a Ship and send it out to go to Mars, something goes wrong and one of the Organisms escapes and thus set course for the Moon as although its close its best to have the Ship and Cargo landed on a Baron plannet/Moon where with no Hosts it cant reproduce and also i doubt Xenos can fly ships. This would beg the question why not destroy the Xeno instead, surely they could sent them up in a Ship and Blow it up? Unless they thought they Organism would be usefull for some purpose but it is far to dangerous to keep on LV223, thus they wanted to send it somewhere to be placed in safe storage. Maybe they created or come across the Xeno, was it a planned creation or a creation that ended up beings something they could not controll (much like the creation of the Terminators). I think that the Xeno played some part in the downfall of the Engineer race, and that the Xeno was then contained and then attempted to be quarantined. Or another reason, the Xeno was created by a Rogue Engineer who unleashed it on his fellow Engineers so as that he could no longer be one of the Gods like in Titans, and other Ancient Cultures but so as that the Engineer could become the one and only Engineer and thus GOD Maybe he used his own kind as some kind of experiment, i am thinking the Engineers are not so malevolent, just one of them has gone all Mad Scientist gone a bit Hitler. Maybe then some Engineers maybe over throw him or he escapes, and they try and clean up his mess and then choose to quarantine the Organism and get rid of it, so one Engineer sets off with the creation of the evil Engineer so he can dispose of the threat, but he ends up being a sacrefice? Maybe the evil Engineer set the Derelict to Earth with his creation, maybe another Evil Engineer pilots it but runs into trouble? Maybe the Evil Engineer sets course for Earth but a good Engineer manages to hen try and pilot it away from Earth. We just dont know really... A big question regarding the Xeno being used and created as a Bio Weapon and one prupose..... WHY PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET? Surely if it was a Weapon then the Derelict on LV426 would not contain all the Eggs every created or made? Then again that means where are the rest? This would then have to lead to another Alien movie, unless in Prometheus the Planet gets blown up? All unless as i think the Xeno Eggs on that ship are all that remain and are collected and placed on that ship to quarantine them.

Hello, I am new to the forums. I have tried to read a lot of the posts here. And I have watched the trailers and listened to the audio puzzle. It is all facinating and I can hardly wait for the movie. I really wonder what Vickers becomes. I do think she will experience metamorphosis. m
