Im interested as to what happens after the movie so things are in context. After the film is released i guess its gonna be a gap of a year before Fox has a ready script for prometheus 2, im interested to find maybe 3 or 4 other fans who want to formulate a script and then we can get it to some agents in states and maybe even get it pitched to fox, anyone feel like there up for it.

I'm interested. :-D but I reckon it'd be a big IF we can even get it looked at...... They probably get scripts from people like us on the forum all the time............ But it's worth getting some of our own ideas down I reckon ;-)

That could be interesting! I'd rather focus on an ALIEN prequel that deals with the discovery of the Derelict and humanity's first nasty encounter with the Alien we all know and love. I think the best thing to do would be to each come up with individual elements and plot devices and then combine them online and write out a treatment. I think if a prequel was gonna be our focus, however, we should call it STARBEAST-in tribute to Dan O'Bannon's script.

ive recently been looking at the original starbeast script the spec script its raw but you can see where the dna to make aliens was. im readin the 1989 rejected Alien 3 script by D.T TWOHY, Fox rejected it but its still an interesting read none the less. i want to explore a different angle all together, i want to use the seed of the spin off from Alien Resurection, i want to write a story inbetween Alien 3 and Alien resurection about how Weyland-Yutani goes from being the most powerful company on earth to being stripped apart into nothing or did it. I want to know what company builds the android Call? who sends call to investigate the Universal Systems Military ship where Ripley 8 is being held. I want to explore the genetic processing of Ripleys dna from Alien 3 where Ripley 1-7 are created until they get the perfect Ripley 8. That script if written right would sell and it would sell big.

Im gonna sound realy obnoxious and Hollywood agent now but i have a point "fuck the xenos, fuck facehuggers and fuck queens limping around metal ships its all been done, what sci-fi fans want and need is a new era of the revelations of gene splicing, nano tech, bio-tech, we want to see new creatures that aint been seen not old stuff from 30 years ago, its like rock music dont sell me the beatles the beatles are gone give me something new and something fresh so i can say fuck the past and change the future"

Something that looks truly alien. Not that I don't think Ridley hasn't come up with something good hopefully new for Prometheus, but I know what you're talking about. I love this kind of movie for the look of the creatures in them ;-) But, I'd rather not do something like the inbetween of Alien 3 and Desecration, (that is all I will call that 4th abortion) because as Damon Lindelof has said, and I think it's pretty good advice, is if you do something that already has a forgone conclusion, I personally would rather see something in the same universe but going off into another story of different inhabitants of that universe.

Well, maybe stop poking yourself in the eyes with sharp sticks? Haven't you got anything else to do to amuse yourself? :-P

i know people love them but its a done thing, the xeno lost its value when after ridleys xeno which was crafty, calculating and clever got turned into an overdesigned dinosaur, just walking around humorously and aimlessly destroying people with no aim at all. in resurection the alien bites a chunk out of the army chiefs head, why? for food? for fun? no because the xeno has been relegated to pleasing audiences to do 5 to 10 stupid violent acts per movie to please the bllod hungry cinema crowd. It has damaged the original concept of the star beast.

Opinions......does this scene/dialog work, or is it utter shite?: FADE IN SUPER TITLE EIGHT MONTHS LATER CUT TO INT. CHARLOTTE NC TOM AND DENISE STEPHENS’ APARTMENT LIVING ROOM-DAY Tom is seated at a computer desk which faces the rear of a sofa. He is unshaven, disheveled, and totally absorbed in what he’s viewing on the monitor. The room is nicely furnished, but not distinctively so. Bright sunlight streams through a window. Cream’s “White Room” is playing, barely audible. DENISE V.O. ( from an adjoining room ) Tom, are you on one of those UFO sites again ? He starts typing, doesn’t look away from the monitor; and seems oblivious to her question as he peers at the screen, reading…… TOM I’m talking to The Immortal. DENISE V.O. do do do do, do do do do She sings the first two bars of “The Twilight Zone” theme. Tom smiles knowingly ( he’s heard her do this before ) DENISE V.O. ( In a low, ominous voice ) The alien speaks. Denise enters the room, wearing a red blouse over a form fitting gray skirt. She’s putting on an earring, and wears a bemused expression. She leans over and wraps her arms around Tom’s shoulders, resting her chin on the crown of his head; her face is ebullient. DENISE Well? TOM Yeah……. I’m convinced he actually believes it. DENISE (her expression becomes more serious; concerned) Then he really does need help. TOM Uh huh He stops typing, peers at the screen, then looks slightly distant. TOM But he’s been able to answer every single question I’ve thrown at him, Denise….. His knowledge is comprehensive, encyclopedic….. Tom starts typing again. DENISE Maybe he should go on “Jeopardy” Denise bites Toms’ ear playfully, and backs off a couple of steps; eyes lowered mischievously. Tom pushes back his seat as he rises to the bait. TOM Oh, so you want some! DENISE Pervert!.....You should be so lucky. FOLLOWING Tom chases Denise into an adjoining room, both of them are laughing playfully. CUT TO MONITOR SCREEN On the screen, a question, actually a challenge: “What can you tell a software engineer about your computers that he wouldn’t understand?” A block of text appears below, but is illegible DENISE VO (not angry, but insistent ) Not now, I made breakfast. We hear a quiet, feminine moan of pleasure FADE OUT CUT TO KITCHEN The kitchen has a small table only large enough for two. The appliances are all new, but the cabinets, counters, and floor don’t look quite up to date. The Rolling Stones “19th Nervous Breakdown” starts playing on a radio mounted under one of the cabinets. Denise and Tom are just finishing up breakfast, seated across from each other at the table DAVE ( He puts down a cup of coffee, and sits back in his chair, gazing at Denise ) What would I do without you to keep me in line? DENISE Fall to pieces… an empty broken shell of your former self? ( She smiles, turning her head slightly to one side ) TOM ( a sheepish grin, then his smile fades ) Pretty much. DENISE ( a pregnant pause before her expression changes, she is genuinely concerned ) Is everything OK, baby? TOM Of course, why ? DENISE You’ve just seemed really preoccupied lately. Is it something at work? TOM Honey, everything’s fine. After only only six months, I’m getting in stride with people who’ve been there for years….. There’ve been a lot of deadline pressures, but we’ll be finished with the OS revisions in a few weeks…. Things’ll ease up then. DENISE ( her brow relaxes ) That makes me feel better. I’d been worried maybe you didn’t like it. TOM It’s all good, really.…….You seem to be happy at the school. DENISE They’re a great bunch of kids. I love em. ( glancing up at the wall clock, she looks surprised ) I’ve gotta get going! Denise leaves her seat, and quickly exits the room. Dave follows, but doesn’t seem to be in a hurry. He’s holding a cup of coffee CUT TO LIVING ROOM Dave still wears only his pajama bottoms. He walks over to the computer. DENISE VO You’d better get ready too. TOM ( turns his head slightly to answer, but sits down in the computer chair ) I will, just a sec. Still looking a little drowsy, he yawns, and starts to take a drink. As he begins to read the text on the monitor, his expression changes dramatically, and the cup stops at his lips; he starts to lower it, eyes widening, and mouth opening in an expression of utter astonishment and shock. TOM Oh my God! CUT TO MONITOR SCREEN ( 19th Nervous Breakdown swells as Tom reads, and we see the text ) There is a large block of text and arcane mathematical equations; a heading above, in a larger font reading: “Temporal Effects of a Synthetic, Gravity Bound Singularity in a Quantum Processor”

Thanks, that's one opinion. Dialog is like torture for me. Have no clue if it works or if it's totally lame...... :( .....or whether my friends and family are just humoring/taking pity on me, or being honest, if they say they like something.

The screenplay so far is very vivid and well written. My own question is....who are these characters, Tom and Denise, in relation to the Alien universe? What year is it? When I envision it, I feel it is contemporary (2012 or so) because no futuristic gadgetry is being slipped in.....yet.

Have you ever sent a script of to a script agent or fo you just keep them for yourselves. Im only just getting into screenplay writing myself im coming from a songwriting, web-design background and im just getting into screenplay writing now. I find it interesting its like songwriting but instead of chords and melodies its scenes and dialogue.

Well, while I can't actually tell you anything right now about it, because we don't want to go giving away the good stuff, we're keeping that locked right up at the moment, I CAN tell you it happens in the same universe as Alien and Prometheus :-P

I'd like to contribute, but I'd need to be "in-the-know" on the general direction we'd be going in. So far it looks great. PM me if you want to give me something to begin formulating (an upcoming scene, etc.) since my understanding is that this is a "joint" activity.

Interesting thread, funny enough i was actually thinking of making my own "fan" film spin off of the alien/Prometheus universe after watching a couple of trailers and seeing where this movie is heading I thought I'd give a shot at my own thing. whether it would be a prequel or something new entirely has not been decided yet but one thing is for certain it'll take place in the same universe, and no i wont be using the old alien designs as they have been overly used and aren't as frightening or unique anymore just like you previously stated. BTW nice scene u got there :)
