Could the Space Jockey in the 'Derilict' be a benevolant 'hero' that was himself

I began thinking of this when I was typing on another thread so much that I was compelled to create my own thread out of the idea. Please go with it as I think it is interesting concept to at least think about. It may seem a bit slim that this is the case but please offer your comments: Perhaps the Space Jockey was in fact a 'person' whom perhaps disagreed with whatever was in fact going on with his 'race' and perhaps tried to stop 'them' and got rewarded with punishment for his actions. A 'cruxifiction' of sorts, if you will, for his 'sins' or that of his 'people'. that he must now pay pennants for? Could the Space Jockey who is discovered fossilized in the 'Derilict' in fact be a 'Tragic Hero' as was posted on here a little while before that I read somewhere before? Makes you wonder...

I'm still haunted by the 'Darth Vader made C3PO' BS in the Star Wars prequels. I'm sure RS will learn from Lucas' mistakes. DO NOT EXPLAIN EVERYTHING ! KEEP SOME MYSTERY!

I also liked what DarthMongo suggested earlier in this post. It's a possible hypothosis. A double, double-take. Possible though.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Star Wars prequels 'for what they were' but they are on a lower level than the original 3 films. I'm hoping Pro will be on an equal level to Alien.

Yes Chthon, that is very true of how those set of films came across: The Anakin Skywalker Trilogy as compared to the: Luke Skywalker Trilogy. They were a par above the rest! I do wish the Star Wars prequels could have come across more like in gravitas as The Lord of the Rings in tone and giant themes and a sort of majesty to them as well. Just set in a futuristic universe. I do think George Lucas based his original Star Wars trilogy on the Lord of the Rings to begin with. Not that I have a problem with that. The AT AT's. - The Olifants, Oliffants. The Death Star, Isenguard, Corascant 9not seen until remater in 1990's) Mordor. So on and so on.

Ok guys, how's this for a little tale of the Space Jockeys? It goes like this: The jockey's race hoped to settle on the Alien's barren world of LV-426. Like most advanced civilisations, they had long ago outgrown their native world. As a large, fit breed, they planned to use their sophisticated science to do what they had done on countless other planets before: Alter its environment to make it habitable. First, the colonists made certain that they wouldn't be destroying any native life-forms with their atmospheric manipulation. Unfortunately, since the Alien eggs were dormant, the sensors of the benign giants indicated no signs of life. A ship landed, its crew hopeful that the job could be swiftly accomplished. They began their work and after screaming into their radios, were never heard from again. A second team suffered a similar fate, so a third landing was made by the jockey, at the controls of an armed vessel. With one finger on the trigger of its cannon, the pilot warrior looked for the creatures which were presumed to have slain the previous parties. There was nothing to be seen, no remains of the jockey's fellow beings, or their attackers. Stepping onto the planet's rocky surface, the jockey whilst exploring like those before him, discovered the Alien eggs. Thinking those to be harmless in their unhatched state, and possibly damaged by the environmental changes, the newcomer loaded them into the ship's hold, to bring them home for study. The 'parents' of these creatures must have perished protecting their unborn against what they thought was an invasion. Suddenly, about to leave the hold, the jockey was assaulted by a Facehugger and unable to see, stumbled to the bridge of the ship, to surrondings which were familiar and could be navigated by touch alone. When the Facehugger's task had been completed, the Alien seed implanted its host, the chitinous carrier died and fell off. The unsuspecting victim recovered quickly and broadcasted the story home. Then, the jockey felt the first painful movements of the throbbing Chestburster. Moments before the Alien sprung from within its torso, the giant being programmed the ship to beam a warning, twice each minute, to any ship which might approach the planetoid: STAY AWAY!

I posted this on another thread but this is my opinion of the SJ from Alien and the story. SJ starts his ship for Earth, his impregnates himself with a Queen Alien, the Queen hatches, lays eggs on the trip, Ship lands on Earth and Aliens attack. But the Prometheus crew crashes the ship and it lands, all die. Then the Alien movie finds the derilect ship in the future. I still think that an advanced species would have a better way of cleansing a planet than using eggs and bugs.

Trucker theory with misbehavin’ cargo is the most logical.

Here are my 3 theories and i had these before we had the cast list.... This Engineer set off with that Cargo to either. 1) Get it off LV223 and as far away as possible (think the Xeno nearly killed off them all. 2) Taking the Cargo to LV223 for Study or Storage 3) Was taking off to deliver its Cargo to a World to destroy its indigenous life. When those Hollogram scenes came out it kind of to me confirmed number 1). But then gave a new theory aswell, in that maybe one Engineer unleashed the Xeno and maybe created it, to wipe out his fellow Engineers so he could become God! and not one of the Gods. This then leaves the Derelict and its pilot as... 1) Hero who takes whats left of the Xeno Eggs and thus throws a spanner into the Nasty Engineers plans and thus sacrefice himself. 2) The Nasty Engineer like many Mad Scientists may have a Igor (like Dr Frankenstein and Dracula had) and the Nasty Engineer or Blue Meanie, used his other fellow Engineer to sacrefice himself for the great of the Nasty Engineers Plot and Agenda.

As far as the invitation goes... Well its not a Trap i dont think so... I think its like if say these guys was Godlike and created a race on another plannet who the one day their creation turned up. Elder Being 1 = Santa Claus Elder Being 2 = Ghandi Elder Being 3 = Obama Elder Being 4 = Hitler They created us, or they are whats left of who created us. But by the time we land on their homeworld etc only Elder Being 4 AKA Hitler is alive. That dont mean their race at the time they created us was benevolent but far from malevolent. However the one last Elder is malevolent. Thats what i think has gone on, The last Engineer played a part in the demise of his brothers, he went a bit Mad Scientist as he wanted to be the only Engineer.... Thus there are no longer any creator Gods..... but just ONE GOD!

Looking at the Hologram scenes, we seem to see the Engineers finding something or making some kind of discovery or maybe doing some kind of experiments. If we look at the sarcophagus they all seem to have holes that seem burned out, apart from one. If you look at the Giger Alien Cycle it apears that a Engineer is using other Engineers to implant the Xeno. We then see the running Holograms of the Jockeys, and then one on his own Running. I think again that One Engineer created something it got out of hand, they decided to contain this finding or creation but one of the Engineers was not happy at his findings and creation being taken away to be quarantined or destroyed. so he then maybe used the other Engineers as hosts for the Xeno, or maybe he did this at first. One Engineer good guy who may had been implanted manages to escape, and head to the ship that the Eggs was stored on, maybe to dispose of them or maybe he finds out that the Mad Engineer planned to use these Xenos to destroy the Engineers other world creations inc Earth so he can recreate what ever he wanted. Thus the escaped Good Engineer manages to get onboard and take off with the Derelict to head to a secure place..... Howver Ridley says that one of the Cargo Got lose, this implies my theory has a hole, in that the Engineer on that Derelict was not infected at that time but latter..... But then how does a Face Hugger etc actually get onto the Face of the Space Jockey while he is wearing his mask? There are no signs of damage to the Jockeys Mask/Skull.

Maybe the the Space Jockey is the key to solving this mystery. Perhaps he was 'used' as a 'transitional host'. in otherwords somehow from the cobra-headed 'face-huggers' or more like alien leech-like suckers they have somehow 'bit' into him/her (probably a 'Him') and it generated an embryo that eventually starts off the whole queen/Xenomorph life cycle. Or some'how in a weird convergence-evolution scenario different Cobra-Headed leech-suckers 'combine' together and in some perverted way of mutaing evolution 'invent/create' the first face-hugger or "Proto-Face Hugger" as I saw someone else theorised on here somewhere before. This may be a possible scenario It does beggar the age-old question though who or what came first: the chicken or the egg? Well if Brett and Dallas were being 're-constituted' into one-or-more eggs for future hatching potential shouls Ripley or any of the others happen by or even a future rescue team then maybe some how an inadvertant 'egg' is created by the 'Cobra-Heads'. I'm converging upon a cross-section of ideas I know but I wonder if it may seem at all plausable at least in some art to what I have suggested?
