Why are Shaw and Vickers Suits Different?

I think we already discussed the suits in previous threads. The ones with the orange/red piping are the "escape suits" that are hanging near the ejection pods. The Verizon photos showed this in good detail. When you look at the first few missions to the temples, everyone is wearing the blue suit with the larger chest harness. Later, when Vickers ejects from the Prometheus, you can tell she switched to the emergency escape suit.

Good Point and we do see Shaw wearing two kinds during the movie. You would notice that Davids and Vickers have a logo on them that Shaws and Holloways do not, maybe this is to highlight that Vickers and David are on the ship with the interests of Weyland? We also have the Silver Suits that the Mechanics wear.

Shaw and Vickers are fashion foward. Hot pink piping is on trend, providing a bold accent to the silhouette that is dramatic while remaining totally wearable. The look is bold and it picks up on a street vibe that is both strongly contemporary, yet classic - elevating the simple atmosphere suit into an elegant piece of multi-function, all-day, wear. I think its because they wanted them to look more visualy appealing to complement their looks. It might also be a girl suit vs boy suit thing. Have we seen any boys in the girl suit? @allinamberclad: LOL...Do you work in advertising/marketing? ; )

Perhaps there is a good reason for this... Imagine a team is going to an alien planet and they find intelligent life there. If this intelligent life form wanted to communicate with the crew it would probably want to speak with its leader/s... What if the orange-paterned suits are supposed to indicate the leaders of the group?

Gotta love the new pics of Vickers in her suit....sweeeeet!!! I work in the F1 industry and we make a lot of high tec carbon fibre products either through our F1 racing or via our other High technology companies that spin off from it...I love the way these suits look like material carbon fibre. They look futuristic and still timeless. The helmets almost look classic with a touch of the original Lost In Space series about them.....It's a great costume design that I don't think will date...and I'm not just saying that because of how Vickers ass looks.......well maybe a little......
