Simple Review w/o delving into the Plot

NC77

To Quote RS "It's about everything", well yeah because they jammed everything in and had no time left to explain or reveal anything. There are also a lot of pointless scenes. I have been on and off this board and read all the spoilers so I knew what to look for while watching the movie. My three other friends all from very different walks of life all walked out saying WTF. As soon as the credits rolled two of them made jokes that I owed them 19 bucks for the IMAX tickets. The movie didn't connect with them. They were left with so many questions they never actually cared about the plot(if there was one) or the characters. They all agreed if there is a sequel they would rather pass and let me tell them about it. Either RS needed another hour or he needed to focus and cut out the needless scenes like the head re-animation, the hammerpede and Fifield(sp?) going ape shit in the hanger. There was no point to any of those scenes. I also have to agree that the Fleshy Xeno at the end was very out of place and there was no flow from scene to scene. The movie was very jumpy.
Visually the IMAX CGI and effects kicked ass. I'll give them that much. It was also fun to see the Engineers alive and moving around after waiting 30 something years. I really want to like this film, but I can't make excuses. I'd give it a C at best and most of that comes from the effects and Theron!
