Screen time seen so far?

MemberOvomorphMay 12, 20121376 Views8 RepliesDoes anyone know yet how much screen time we have now seen amongst all the trailers and featurettes? I was just interested to see what percentage of the movie has so far been revealed.
If the film (-credits) is approx 119 minutes (and change, according to RS) and I know many of the trailers/featurettes/tv spots contain repeat footage), I wondered if we had seen up to 5% of the actual movie yet?
I'm guessing we have around 3-3.5 minutes ( 3%) worth of unique footage? Any one know?

@Svanya
You are very kind...What I wanted to know though was the amount of time that has been released to the general public...so how much have we all (journalists excluded) seen so far.
But thank you for a speedy and helpful response.....

NP, i'm fast with the links here. XD
Probably 5-7 minutes, maximum for us regular folk.
The links are very nicely done, and worth a read. They do contain spoilers though so tread lightly.

@ NoXWord
Thanks for that...appologies as well, I looked under "run time" before posting and didn't pick up on your thread...DOH!!
10 whole mins!!!!!!!! F**** Are you sure?
I shouldn't really argue with a guy who has the best members pic in the galaxy ; ) I love the fact that Monty's sidekick is called "Weyland Smithers"...He is such a Carter Burk type as well......

I have wondered the same thing some time ago.
At that time it was between 5 and 10 minutes, but since the new featurettes and additional footage, I think we (as common audience, not journalists) have seen 10min, or possibly more, of unique footage.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

its a 2 hour film, and im guessing weve seen approx 5 mins of footage.....question is what is the distribution of those scenes we have seen. I think they evenly span the whole film barring the denoument, maybe one or two surprises and all the death scenes - some people on this site will be very very close to the plot just from the footage we have seen
I think I have a good idea of how it plays out, maybe all of you will as well - when you come out the theatre, how close you will be will largely depend on how much they gave away in the trailers. I hope im a million miles away....nothing worse than trailers that show too much (even if its a split second shot - nothing escapes in the internet age)

The most anyone has seen was a journalist named "The high priest", he saw the first 15 min. of which he wrote in great detail. **Links below, beware of spoilers.

ROFL Mithra, Weyland Smithers rocks!
I am not sure about those 10 minutes, it was just an estimate considering the total time of all the trailers and then assuming that as an average there was about 60% of redundancies.
Only someone with a video editing tool and a lot of time in their hands could do that. I am happy with this degree of approximation, though.
My only hope is that the final cut of the film is not going to be the the sum of all the unique footage seen so far, but slowed down to fill the whole 119 minutes. There would be too many plot holes!
