MemberOvomorphMay-15-2012 5:07 PMI was contemplating whether or not to post it in the Alien discussion, or the Prometheus discussion board. I figured i'd post it here, since Prometheus is subject to science-related talk more than Alien. It just feels right, posting it here.
Especially when you consider the Engineers, and what they do. Most likely being the ones that created the Xenomorphs in the first place.

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2012 5:31 PMIt's really interesting but I can't stand hearing people say that the alien's only downfall is it's stupidity? I wouldn't classify aliens as stupid they might not be mad scientists but they are most definitly not stupid.

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2012 9:28 PMWe don't know how intelligent the alien in Alien was. The alien seemed to enjoy taking it's time in the first movie, kind of like how a serial killer may get a sick thrill out of the psychological trauma it puts its victims through.
The aliens in Aliens were obviously just cannon fodder.

Also, intelligence. Since, expand, destroy.
In Resurrection, we see that they can conceive a plan. They agree to kill one of their own to escape.
So they can definately make decisions suited towards their soldier-esque roles.
