Its not Holloway, well i dont think it is. I think Holloway becomes toast.... I think its the Engineer but we see two scenes of him on Prometheus where he does not seem to be burnt and we see another where he apears to have a different skin tone and face and neck like it has been burnt by fire or acid. I guess we cant really work out what goes on untill we see the movie for ourselves.

I like your hypothosis. It could play out with your logic in mind. I see where you are going with this and it could be a real possibility. An un-easy alliance perhaps forms as a result of this 'conflict of interests' between them both and the Blue-Grey suit man is attempting to track 'It' down. A very distinct possibility, and his 'humanity' could be somewhere inside of him still! Fueling him on. Very possible! I support it! Well done!

actually, when we see shaw peeping through a door into a room and the tentacle, she's in her skinny's. i think thats right after she wakes up and backhands whoevers in the radiation suit. they may be thinking of putting the thing back inside her, she busts out, something happens and she closes the door behind her, and the alien gets big and slaughters everyone in the room. i have considered for a while that there are two "main" aliens, the SJ/Engineer and then some abomination, in the end, where the Engineer is trying to destroy perhaps what we created, inadvertantly, or not.

When Shaw wakes up and backhands some one she is in a medical gown, not the bandage underwear she is wearing in the tentacle scene. In fact, unless I'm mistaken that scene is the only scene we see Shaw wearing a medical gown?

Thanks Rather be Eatin. We may be able to track this along a little further. We have seen Shaw wake up with Hazmat suit people around her. I think a great deal of us see this as the potential ending of the movie, I.E. Shaw leaves the planet in the escape pod. Well, how do we get from seeing a tentacle creature on the escape pod and the scene with the Blue guy to her alone on the ship being rescued and examined? I just dont see Shaw beating down a creature and a blue guy all in the span of a few minutes in a small ship. I guess the question is ( if you follow my logic on this) what does the blue guy want with the tentacle creature?

does any body have a screen cap of Shaw looking through the window at the tentacle creature? I think you can see she is in a suit.

EDIT: watched it in the trailer, its unclear, but i have to lean towards you being right, it looks like a suit, especially from the light on her neck. sorry @Mostly and i was wrong about her being in her skinny's on the table, she's in a gown, as you said @Snorkel.

Yep, we need the one right after. Just what is the blue guy doing on the ship if it is not looking for the creature? I think Shaw lives, and escapes. If you follow that logic then why does the Blue guy come on the ship? They just blew up his ship, messed up his temple, took things that dont belong to him, Looks like he smashed a few of the crew, whats he going to do? Throw Shaw on the ground, point to her and say dont you ever come back her again? I hope not, .

Tentacle thing is created for a purpose which is in my opinion the prototype facehugger. Although I'm not sure who it impregnates. 'Planting the seed' and 'birth' are tracks at the end of the soundtrack.

@ snorkelbottom : I think the Shaw backhand is at the end of the movie on a new ship. Doesnt seem like a triple pHd holder begging Weyland to fund her creator treasure hunt would backhand someone until AFTER she has to ax mutated crew members and whatnot.

Couldn't Shaw just be in her space-sports 'underwear' and merely have the gown draping over her at first then in the heat of some conflict, it becomes ripped off or she takes it off as ease of access to run around and all things of that nature. Mabe she takes of the medical gown to attack someone from behind, wrapping it around someones face or she could take it off and cover up on of the air lock windows we see hear peeping through to potentially 'blind' something or someone from seeing her. Makes sense to me...

...Or its at the beginning of the film, before being debriefed by someone, in which she relates the events of the film - like Interview with the Vampire or Hellraiser IV Bloodlines.

I mean it serves the same purpose as a facehugger. I think it plays a key part in planting a seed into someone/thing at the end of the movie which in turn gives birth to something else. The film appears to be about how the engineers can manipulate/evolve biology to their means. I think the tentacle thingy is a cross bred between human DNA and hammerpede/engineer DNA, so I think it may have limbs and fingers (bloody finger marks on door) as well as tentacles and human reproductive organs. The facehugger when examined in Alien was also found to have reproductive organs.

If you see the mutation of the infected crew member you'll change your mind about the creature. It has big sharp fingers like they showed in the thing movie.

Considering the mercs are firing so close to Fifield and he's still going and in the other scene in the temple the Blue guy walks right through a round shot at close range fired by another merc . I think Weylands military division is lacking in the R&D area. It looks like they are shooting spitballs.

yeah the top shot, section is visible towards the end of the 3 min international trailer, its exactly the same shot, but fifield doing the throwing, complete with red mohawk etc

Its so hard to peice together anything as lets look at what we have seen... We see Shaw/Holloway in Caves, We see shot of Prometheus flying in space, then land, we see David playing Basket Ball, we seem him talking top Holloway about how far would he go to get his answers. Plus many more.. those scenes in the trailers take up less than a minute, in the movie they would be longer but again add every scene we got from Trailers to their full length and i still we are looking at 45 mins + of footage in the movie that we have not seen. And i am not talking about more to do with certain scenes, like how we saw the Holloway with his hand up screen and now we have expanded on that with Vickers flamming him... I mean there are many scenes we have yet to see. So its going to be really hard to peice together when the guy is chassing her through the ship. I would assume that those scenes could be on the Lifeboat, but is that after it ejects? Then again we see another one where the Engineer runs through the corridor that leads to a room that we see Vickers walking out of in her grey suit and we see her running towards it in another scene in her dark all in one. We see the Engineer try and access the same door and i am thinking this passage way leads to the lifeboat but is actually onboard the Prometheus. It does raise some questions.... 1) Does the Engineer after being woken up and after the Hanger Scene and maybe Shaws C-Section, does he end up going to and board the Promethus while landed? Then again how does he avoid bumping into Janek..... and does he then go back to the Derelict to take off? Would that explain why some of the crew are on the Derelict to get away from him? 2) Is there someone else or another Engineer who gets into the chair to take off, while Engineer buggers off to the Prometheus? There is just so many gaps as to explain how a Engineer apears to be on Prometheus, as this scene of him apears to be in the passage ways of Prometheus. Thats a good call Big Dave, So big blue is on the prometheus, So the question is the timming, is he on the ship while it rams into the Jaggernaut? Is he chasing Vickers? If he is how does that play into the scene with him and Shaw? I still suspect that the Burnt Big guy is holloway and we are looking at two different scenes. It may be that as the mutant Holloway starts in on Shaw the creature comes into play and we have some sort of Godzilla Vs/ Mothra moment, i really hope that is not the case.

ive said it before, burnt big guy has identical armour to the dude in the above shots

@Mostly...yeah, i really hope there isnt some drawn out fight between monsters in this movie. if two confront one another and dont get along, i hope its quick and disturbing...no alien vs predator smack down.

from what we can gather from various reports it seems we are going to get a film that starts of fantastially cerebral and descends into standard cat-and mouse theatrics.....albeit fantastic looking....I must admit I'm happy with that, in these jaded times.
