Sorry but I'm so excited about this that I have to brag. I just bought a Prometheus 4 foot by 6 foot double sided bus shelter poster on ebay for $65! The lot came with an Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter bus shelter poster as well but I'm just going to sell it on ebay and try to get some of what I spent back. $65 is pretty crazy considering some of the Avengers bus shelter posters have sold for $400! Not sure if anyone else here collects original theatrical posters but I've been collecting for a while. This is only my 2nd bus shelter poster though. The other one is an original from Escape from New York which is quite rare as they didn't make them back then like they do now. What's cool about that poster is it actually has the street intersection where it was displayed written on the back. I love that new posters are double sided and made to look great with light behind them. I've already made 2 custom light box frames for other DS one sheets and it looks like I'm going to be making a 4" by 6" one now. I better get to work!

It's amazing how many of the "bus shelter posters" here in San Francisco are now plasma displays or LEDs. They must be a dying breed on paper/vinyl... like the Engineers. ;•)

That's pretty cool, Deckard. I used to collect one sheets too...way back when. I used to own a bus-stop teaser poster for ALIEN 3, but I gave it away, it was just too fuckin' big. Anyways, I still own about 150 original one-sheets. My favorites are REVENGE of the Jedi, a couple of EXCALIBUR pieces, STAR WARS, and ALIEN. ~N

@sukkal Yeah, posters are dying out. Soon they'll be a thing of the past. Think that'll up the value though. I mean, they'll obviously still make posters for homes but theatrical posters and standees and whatnot will be gone. @Neurion Sounds like you've got some great stuff. I collect any theatrical material from posters to standees to pressbooks. I actually think I have talked a manager of a local theatre into giving me the 10 foot tall Prometheusa standee and the huge banner they have displayed. I don't have any place to display them but when I win the lottery I'm going to have a huge theatre in my home with stuff like that displayed. Hell, my home will be a huge theatre.

Yeah...keep wavin' the banners, Decks. I'm 44 years old now, but when I was 24...I was a movie poster NUT! Back in 1986, a very nice manager of a Krikorian movie theater in Southern California gave me an ALIENS teaser poster. you know the image of Ripley holding Newt amongst the queen's eggs. And I didn't even have to resort to begging. What a sweet person, huh? Made my night. Ahhhhh...things were simpler then. Goodtimes. ~N P.S. I used to know a guy who used to steal those bus-stop posters...I got some funny stories I could tell ya.

man, I used to be able to remove the posters from shelters here in the UK, I don't think it's possible with the new ones! I'd love one!

Crazy. Living in Texas I never ride buses or subway or anything so I never even see the posters. It looks like my bus shelter posters will be here tomorrow. I'll soon be getting my Wondercon lenticular poster and Weyland phone card thing. The shipping on those was delayed for some reason. I also just bought this original, double sided UK quad poster on ebay... I have many many Alien/Giger posters around my bed. I still collect posters like mad. I have a 8 foot long poster of Nikita with the 50cal sniper rifle, with her lying in from of it (that one in in the computer room). I will never grow up... thank god!

It is very sublime, patch! What I love is the material it's made of. Some kind of vynil or something. Super sturdy. It's double sided so when I get the lightbox frame done it's gonna be a sight to behold. I kinda wish it was the more recent poster that shows more but tbh I think I prefer this one. More mysterious.
