Could the "creature" aboard the Prometheus be a large, spider-like super sized f

Could the"creature" aboard the Prometheus be a large,spider-like super sized facehugger thats pursuing the crew? Not totally like the facehugger but heading in that direction? I wonder is the alien "creature" let loose in Prometheus analogous to the facehugger running around the ship only a bigger, giant, super-sized spider-like version? The tentacle-thing flicking at Shaw through the glass window frame in the door could be the tail of an even bigger facehugger like creature, big like Shelob in the LOTR trilogy but maybe not as big yet still formidable and terrifying!
