At least it'll be better than Snow White and the Huntsman. Jokes aside, I'm sure it'll be great. It's far enough from the box-office choke holder AKA The Avengers and thankfully not coming on the same day as Dark Knight Rises. (I think Prometheus, Avengers, and Dark Knight Rises will be the highest box office films of the year.)

These guys are probably just butt-hurt that GI Joke: Retaliation has been pushed back to next year. As you said Jockey, this is an original and genuine experience, not another film that's been done to death.

Let's face it> We are all a little nuts, here. When I mention the film to others outside our circle, I get the blank stare. I think the film may initially be a sleeper but may catch fire thru the summer by word of mouth. (The non -believers who end up messing their diapers.) IMHO the Knight set the bar with "Alien" just like Kubrick set the bar with "2001". I don't know if anyone can exceed those marks!

It is an Alien prequel. They've just been protesting too much about that so as not to alienate potential new viewers. Probably in Scott's contract. It won't flop, but it 'might' not be that great. Your post is probably more 'sad' than anything they said, at a guess.
