Boba Fett in Scott's hands.

MemberOvomorphMay 27, 20121863 Views36 RepliesFor those who do not know. George Lucus never had any fondness towards the character Boba Fett. He even killed him off very easily that it was a joke. Even though in the Star Wars books he continued on living. But imagine if Ridley was allowed to enter the Star Wars universe and use Boba Fett anyway he liked. I imagine that he would take Fett a long distance away from the familiar Star Wars theme and use Fetts dark past to make a tremendous film. I would love to hear your opinion on this. Or any what if ideas.

Yeah give the guy a break, he's aplogised for being on the wrong board!
@ Wirrn, thanks for that info, I'm never happier than when I'm steeped in Bladerunner/A L I E N lore!!!
Just for the record I don't know about Bobba Fett, however I could lie to you about what Ridley would do with Ja Ja Binks.........but he'd have my sympathy! LOL

I think you have an interesting idea Rubirosa.
I've always thought that a standalone Jango/Boba Fett film could be really interesting. It would be even more interesting to see what a director like Ridley Scott would do with the character(s) and what sort of story it would be. There are indeed books that expand upon the Fett story and subject, but a standalone film would be even better IMHO.
A dark, R-rated Star Wars spinoff film done by someone like Ridley would be something I'd love to see happen.

This should not only be in a different thread, but a star wars forum. Only slightly less of a fail is how moot this topic is to begin with.

1) How pointless, silly/ ridiculous is this topic?
2) Why did you post it in the 'Spoilers Thread'?

mheee... diferent storytelleres, diferent universes, diferent characters... and I personally don't like Star Wars.
But, interesting thought, nontheless.
cheers

it's hard to diss star wars..but Lucas did have a 'fluke' with it....Ridley Scott would not be interested in such a story, he would consider it too silly, although he does have the 'scale' to achieve it
Ridley likes the perverse...Alien was perfect for him...

Star Wars was as always (like The lord of the rings books) naughty v nice or to be grandiose about it Good against evil. Scott deals with the underdog's struggle and often has a faceless bigger than over-dog to survive/fight/strive/understand. The Star Wars universe (and don't get me wrong I love it so much) was meant to elate the young (And even Ep I does that) and is so far removed a piece of art that I know RS imagination would find it a very shallow pool in which to paddle.
And on a personal level this all screams of imagine if... Star Wars was not as magical and if RS was not so original.

Funny, I don't even like star wars very much, but I'd rather watch it then any Ridley Scott film not titled "Blade Runner" or "Alien".
"Real world drama", historical fiction and anything related to silence of the lambs is nothing i ever want to watch.

I brought up the what if about the Boba Fett character because I saw so much possibleties with him. He has always been a dark, and mysterious character. It was just an idea.

Hey Wirrn, thank you for the support and that info I knew nothing about. I know of Mr.Jeter's work from then Boba Fett serious. His connection with Mr. Philip K. Dick which leads into a connection with Mr. Ridley Scott is knew to me. Thank you again.

@Rubirosa
Hey dude. Genuinely no offence intended, but I completely agree with @NateBlitz. Why the fuck are you posting non-related Star Wars pointlessness in the dedicated PROMETHEUS (!!!) spoiler board? Keep this shit in the Community/Discussions pages. I reiterate that I mean to cause on offence, but the whole point of the Spoiler Board is for people wanting to find out new shit about this movie and posts like this make the whole website enter in to an area beyond tedium.

Hey I am new to this website. So I did not know there was a difference between the spoiler board and the community board. But thanks to Xenodorph and sandhead for helping me out. Thanks guys may the force be with you.

Star Wars was the film that made Ridely what to do Alien for f*&k's sake! I've heard him call the first Star Wars "formidable" about 1000 times then he says that's why Alien appealed to him.
I think it would be cool. It'll never happen but it would be sweet. It would definitely be better than all 3 prequels combined times 10.
