Or they speak really loudly by listening to poorly ripped, poorly mastered, brickwalled music way to loud through crappy in-ear speakers.
Loud people drive me crazy.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:29 PMA 15 rating is not going to be scary and Ridley said in feature video he wants to "scare the sh!t out of you". How can you do that with 15 that is fit for 15 year old kiddies sigh.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:34 PMWe don't know that it won't be scary......A brilliantly made horror film does not have to rank off the ratings scale to be truly frightening....I am as glad as anyone that the MPAA rating in the U.S. is R, but I really do wish we would all stop seeing the ratings as an end all be all of whether or not this kove will be good or not......

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:35 PM^^ But is the same cut as for the UK if so an R rating can go two ways with 15 rating over here.
Does the film, have lot of swearing like, fu**ker motherf**ker c**t? As words like that can get a comedy an R rating.
Even ALIEN has been down rated to 15
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078748/
ALIENS still rated 18 as it should be
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090605/
ALIEN 3
Still rated 18
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103644/
ALIEN Resurrection
Still rated 18

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:43 PMWell it says 15 so looks like BBFC have made their minds up about it. Maybe Scott is trying to get kiddies into the cinema so it can gross more, sick, because it takes away the adult theme of 1979.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:50 PMWhat was the Woman in Black rated? It was scary as hell and had almost no gore whatsoever. Besides, as far as scares are concerned, I think a five foot alien serpent working its way down your throat and into your insides is scary enough...

andy'scat
MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:53 PMEven worse it was rated 12A
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1596365/
Low budget to make
Box Office
Budget: $17,000,000 (estimated)
Opening Weekend: $20,874,072 (USA) (5 February 2012) (2855 Screens)
Gross: $54,322,273 (USA) (29 April 2012)
Return profit not bad. Will Prometheus make its money back at the cinema plus and insane profit before it arrives on DVD bluray?

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:55 PM@andy'scat dude, just stop it, who cares? ratings are decided on what is violent visually, such as blood and nudity, not on the visuals that get under your skin per-say, for example the grudge is only rated pg-13 in america because it did not have that much blood in it, but the visuals are still fucking creepy as hell! yeah the movie isn't that great but that's besides the point, it gets under your skin! just like alien, and i don't think that 15 year olds could really be called "kiddies" your acting like its going to be a preschool playground or something, who cares who is in the theater with you!!! if there is a 15 year old sitting next to you, that should not take away from the experience at all unless he is being a dick and talking or something like that. so yeah, does not need top be rated high to be good, the only thing good that comes out of a higher rating is purely that extra artistic freedom, that's what its for. and also, you just said that alien was re rated 15 where you are, does that rating change make you like it any less? i sure hope not....

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:57 PMthats why i got frustrated at people who said they wanted an nc-17 rating, that would just hurt the movie not help it!!!!!

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:00 PMI don't want 15 or any god damn kiddie sat within 20 meters of me!
This makes it hard now to go and see at the Empire at London as I don't want it ruined by kiddies! sigh

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:05 PMDIE HARD rated R and 18 for the UK managed to take a good gross
Budget: $28,000,000 (estimated)
Opening Weekend: $601,851 (USA) (17 July 1988) (21 Screens)
Gross: $137,400,000 (Worldwide)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095016/
And a lot of people like DIE HARD.
DIE HARD 2 got down rating in the UK 15 yet the US rating is R nice as I like bloody die hard gore and swearing.
Budget went up a bit more and managed to scrap in a profit.
Budget: $70,000,000 (estimated)
Opening Weekend: $21,744,661 (USA) (8 July 1990) (2 Screens)
Gross: $239,540,947 (Worldwide)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099423/
So will Prometheus be a mega epic cinema box office hit or will it bomb a lot of people like myself don't care for 3D.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:11 PMI don't like kiddies as two came so close to wearing my shoe in their mouth in 1998 when I saw TITANIC they wouldn't STFU!!!

Not_my_intention
MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:17 PMi think your being a little prejudice, just because there were "kiddies" being noisy does not make all "kiddies" like that, adults can be just as bad, and "kiddies" can be just as good.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:35 PMnot to offend, but you remind me of the guy from 12 angry men lol btw i am 14, thats why i got a little mad.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 7:31 PMIn Victorian England it was thought of as obscene for a lady to show her ankles. These days, as long as a lady's nipples and patch are covered she can wear whatever the fuck she wants. The point is that tolerance grows with time. An 18 certificate in 1979 has absolutely no relevance in 2012. This film has the potential to be the creepiest modern film in years and I could not care if it is an 18 or a 12A (UK ratings). I have absolute faith in RS and he has already confirmed that this film is to be released uncut. Ratings mean nothing. The director's intentions are all that matters. Cannot fucking wait. Midnight this Thursday. Jizzageddon.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 7:45 PMJaws was rated "PG" from the get go, that managed to scare the shit out of people.
Tons of classic horror would not be restricted at this point in time [in canada]. Alien, Exorcist, The Omen, most of the '70's classic would be rated "AA" in Canada [think of that as "14" in UK terms]. Die Hard was rated "AA" last time it played at a second run theatre here [they show it every xmas at the local cult movie place]. We are a lot lighter on swearing then most countries in regards to ratings.
Sorry, gore isn't scary. It's just overdone. The only thing more overdone is rape. Seriously, enough with all the rape in films lately.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 8:09 PMPS: Prometheus in Canada? 14a.
Yeah, that is why I am going to the midnight screening. I find that most people under the age of 25 can't shut up anymore.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 8:01 PMI was pretty scared by the ring which was PG 13. On the other hand side I couldn't stop laughing at the hills have eyes (which was rated R) much to the disdain of my then-boyfriend lol.
I would agree with andy's cat. But I saw Paranormal Activity in the theater. It could have been good I guess had it not been for the laughing, chuckling and talking tweens, or so I thought. But the movie is rated R. What's that? 17? Doesn't make a big difference, Andy's cat. Either way, they ruined it for me.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 8:17 PMlol @invader you are 14? That explains this
;P

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 10:54 PM@ Shane.... I'm with you....It's probably because of the phones stuck to their heads and the inane need to babble whatever happens to pass for a thought.... I'm more annoyed by the texting in the theater and the screens lighting up
