@outlander (especially for the name), ShinobiX9X and snapper:
It's a great movie of the eighties...worths checking it all the way!!!!!Even if you exclude the sci-fi surroundings it still stands out as a police thriller something genre..great adventure...
A space ranger is sent to a far outpost of a jupiter moon where there exists a mining operation of a company that digs for certain minerals to trade.Ofcouse such a dispatch is not the best one for a ranger as he is not a favoured one to the police command. There some mysterious accidents happe with the miners...they turn crazy...kill themselves etc.
Nobody suspects something and nobody talks out of fear. ...The good ranger Sean is going to care about this and put an end!oopss..no more spoilers.
Amazing direction, surrounding environments. mood, suspense ,action. everything add to it. Don't miss it.
Aha...an extra: the mood and surroundings, uniforms, and many other elements of the movie resemble very much those of Alien 1979!

I thought my emoticon wink and the reference to High Noon on Io would indicate that I am a long time fan who was being facetious.
Ah well, back to the mines without a spacesuit I guess.
