Sounds like Fassbender steals the show?

So is it fair to say that he owns this film, performance-wise? If so, that's good by me - I like Fassbinder a lot as an actor.

LOL! Good catch. I was thinking of this guy for some reason:

Seems to be the general consensus and I'm glad. He's a excellent actor and even researches his roles. I think he did a character analyses of Magneto to prepare for his role, and in Shame, he had his own backstory for Brandon. I really didn't notice him until he played Magneto, then I started watching everything he's been in (with a few exceptions). Poor thing keeps getting murdered, maimed, or dies a horrible death, lol.
And I know he kicks it in Prometheus too, but I hope he's one of the last to go.

Being a fan of his work and seeing almost every movie he's been in with the exception of a few it does not surprise me at all. He's great and if he keeps it up he'll be one of the best ever.
Funny how his career somewhat follows Christian Bale's path to stardom. They both did a ton of stuff before they were and were kind of first noticed for a role in which they lost a crazy ammount of weight, and both have done a perverted sex addict. Bale in American Psycho and Fass in Shame.

Let's just hope Fassbender keeps his good graces and doesn't go all temperamental on unwary crew members who wander into his "scenes".
Bale let his success go to his head, and after hearing his antics on set, his rant at that camera guy (or director of photography? Not sure who he was), I started to really dislike him. Yeah, good actor, and I'll still see Dark Knight when it comes out this summer, but Bale is not the one drawing me to the theater. I'm seeing the film DESPITE Bale's role.
Edit: No offense to those who like Bale. I just can't stand his attitude.

@Maiafay...I look at what happened with Bale on set this way. What if you were a concrete layer and someone walked all into the wet concrete you'd laid. Only laying concrete is more than just a physical task. It takes great concentration as well and is sort of an art. What if you'd done a masterpiece and then some idiot stepped in it and ruined it never to be done that good again. He did overreact but I'm not gonna down someone that goes to the lengths he does(like The Machinist) to do something as great as he does for our viewing pleaseure(and cash of course).
Just my view. A view which could have used better analogies lol.

Fassbender and Noomi.
I guess Vickers is just another supportive character like Capt.hicks in aliens.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

I have adored him since he made a small Canadian movie about the true origins of "Winnie The Pooh" in 2003. Being Canadian I saw it and thought he was a special actor way back then.
There are 9 parts, here is the link to the first part on YouTube-->A Bear Named Winnie [Part 1]
"A Bear Named Winnie; Based on the true story of a Canadian soldier, enroute to World War I from Winnipeg, who adopts an orphaned bear cub at White River Ontario. It is namned Winnie (for Winnipeg) and eventually ends up at the London Zoo where it became the inspiration for A.A.Milne's Winnie The Pooh stories."

Fassbender is great ..but he play a very strange role ( you will see yourself ) btw his best parts is when hes alone in the ship before the arrival ....

@Deckard, I did listen to his apology, and yeah, I do see his point. It wasn't just the overreacting though. Somewhere I read he bitched about his smaller role in Terminator Salvation and demanded more screen time. It's that kind of diva behavior that ruins the actor's image for me. I appreciate how much he throws himself into his roles (saw Machinist) but now I kinda grimace when I see his name attached to anything.
Same thing with Jennifer Lopez and Madonna. I knew someone who did security at a concert Madonna was giving, and he said she told the staff not to look at her. They weren't ALLOWED to look at her. It's repulsive for anyone to demand that. Like, who the hell is she? I still like her music, but her as a person? No. Not after hearing that.
Fassbender seems respectful and patient during interviews, genuinely amiable. I just hope he stays that way. Sometimes it's hard to separate art from the artist.

David 8 is the catalyst to this whole story... or did anyone not know that... "I can perform tasks that might be disagreeable to humans..."

@Maiafay; That is horrible! What a bitch! I will never support her ever again, Lady Gaga can steamroll over Madonna now for all I care.
Fassbender is almost too uncomfortable being famous, he is dorky and down to earth, (still has a one bedroom appartment) and I think he will stay that way.

@Svanya
Yeah, it blew my mind when my friend told me that. I hate arrogance in people. I acknowledge her talents, but she's not a queen. Even the President lets people look at him, lol!
And thanks for that link! I had no idea Fassbender did this little movie. I'm letting it upload now.
I recently read an interview with him in that one bedroom apartment. I was like...is this a mistake? He did Xmen, shouldn't he have enough money for a house by now? It was a little surreal and unexpected.

Bale was a child actor though, not Fassbender. Bale was breathtaing in "Empire of the Sun", That incident with the crewmember did put me off him though, I am seeing Batman for Tom hardy, Gary Oldman and Micheal Caine.
