My Review (spoilers-inside)

Right folks...just got Home from Watching this in IMAX, drove home at over 70mph! To get on here to see what others have or are saying, so any how be nice as im not critic or totaly Alienfied but i am a fan and love Alien and Aliens! So here we go, movie starts off well, good scenery shots and 3D looks good, still wouldnt say its better then Avatars 3d! But hey Avatar was ALL cgi! This isnt, beautifully shot no doubt. I didnt listen to the OST score but i wasnt feeling it at all, too repetitive and over used, but some not so bad i guess, for me personally it wasnt what i was expecting in a Ridly scott film.I found it to sketchy and miss matched, the plot fires through withought any real depth, Character development is non existent! And where the F*ck! Are the 17 crew members?? I didnt see 17. The film looks to have been cut and chopped up and re pieced together as i thought when i heard the length for it considering the subject matter, there is DEFO!!! A directors extended cut to this film, stuff in previewsteasers are not in the film! The disturbing Audio is NOT in the film. Went into this full well knowning its a stand alone film with slight tie ins to Alien, hints if you like to that universe as we all know, but even then i would have liked to have seen a more atmospheric movie. To me it came across a dumbed down rushed version of what it should have been where 2 scripts have collided and some NOBHEAD! Filled in the gaps, surely Fox has a hand in this too its almost a PG13, Its not scary at all, i read a chap in France! Fainted, i would like to know at what exactly and how old he was as there is nothing even remotely cringe worthy. Now a little more of my insight to the film. It Asks ALOT of questions that are not answered at all, which will im pretty sure will be Prometheus 2 AND 3! Which will still take place before ALIEN. The Xeno is not explained, last 8 mins?? Doesnt make sense, Esp when theMurial of the Xeno is already in the temple and you have all seen that. David is a bit of a twat! Best character of the movie by a mile, Vickers?? Dont knw why shes even there, Next best shaw and Janek, Holloway the poor chap seems to have issues from the get go and then gets toasted and no1 seems to give a shit. Ford who? Non existent and the rest Fifield milburn, what was the point? Their deaths waaaay too quick and rushed. The Creature(s) cycle very rushed the Cobralien is an earth worm that comes into contact with the black ooz and ends up the cobralien, each thing that is infected in some way by this ooz develops or changes differently. Its not the home planet of the engineers, its an outpost as it has already been stated. I can see that the crew just being there set off the reactions in the temple very much like as in alien with kane breaking the laser barrier in the egg chamber. Its not engineering its weapons design that back fires on them, still though u dont get answers to why all the jokceys bodies are there with chests blown from the inside or heads blown up. The black goo Seems to be the weapen that starts it all off. I still dont get how Shaws lil babey leads to a Xeno from inside the jockey, possibly the jockey being bio mechanic BUT all they wear are suits theyre organic! And yes there is a XENO! Alomst fully grown too, Which again does not explain the cargo on LV426! The murial of the Xeno in the temple. Shaw wants answers, she asks alot of questions that are not answered again think this will be part 2 and 3! As ridley stated in a recent radio interview. If you want answers to alien ur not going to get them not straight away or clearly. My assumption is that the other ships have diff Cargo, the one shaw gets on has the eggs, one face hugger gets loose does her and then she pulls an emergency landing on LV426 and sets off the warning signal, Yes the jockey is HUGE in alien but its just a suit so what is inside could be a hell of a alot smaller??? I cant come up with any other way of explaining it...not right now anyway. Overall i was left very frustrated at the film the mrs picked up on this, she loved it but hasnt got clue about alien or ridley scott, and there was a fella sat next to me who as it finished said it was “awsome and amazing” so i would have to say this is for the younger gen of fans to which this is aimed at and should succeed. As a stand alone film which is what i was expectin its just too short u dont even realise the 2 hours duration everything happens very quickly, some questions answered ALOT asked. The date at the end for the weyland industries time line must be more viral marketing and right around that date i would imagine the DVD blue ray to be released and news of a new project of sorts.I wana say i really loved this, to a degree i did, visuals are amazing no doubt. But i am left frustrated and scratching my head for answers, will just have to wait for 2 and 3! Watch this with and open mind people and DO NOT expect alien or anything close to it, its a stand alone film as they have always stated so we cant argue with that. I just wanted to watch a great film and i may have enjoyed this alot more had i not got into alot of discussions regarding theories and speculation or read spoilers etc. But hey ho i did and well its a bit of an anti climax, Still going to go watch it again tomorrow and see what else i can pick out. If you think this review is all over the place and goes back and forth, you will now know how i feel after watching it. Im divided on this one im afraid, might like it more 2nd time round.
