Prometheus, a dream project from a fan's perspective.

Thought I'd offer a break from all the mixed reviews. I'd considered Prometheus a dream project since I never figured Scott would return to the Alien universe. Whether it lives up to the expectations is not what this thread is about. If you could pair up any director, less Ridley Scott (for some unknown reason this site seems biased towards him) with ANY project whether it be reboot, remake, sequel or prequel what would it be?

How about something new altogether?

Original ideas are fantastic, but I wanted something that could be relatable to a fan base. I myself would love to see a well done sequel to John Carpenter's The Thing. I think it's begging for one, but as much as I love Carpenter I don't think he could pull it off. I just can't decide who I would like handle it, Guillermo del Toro maybe.

The thing should just be left alone for all time and the sequel/prequel erased from existence that film was near perfect it would take something exceptional for it to be made without just turning it into a remake where would you go with it cine???? I'd like to see RS sign up to another 2 Prometheus films now both written and filmed together that ultimately do tie into alien but explore the origins of the SJs aswell

What Cypher said. There are too many great, original IPs just sitting around, gathering dust. With the technology that's available now, epic properties like "Rendezvous with Rama" and "Ringworld" are no-brainers for production, IMO. Both novels are truly visionary. Rama is a fully realized theoretical ark-ship within a plausible story arc and Larry Niven created remarkably unique characters in an equally remarkable future universe.
