Ultimate Xeno yet to be seen?

We still don't know where the Xeno's originate. Are they a stand alone species the engineers manipulated? If the answer is no then does the goo create weaponized and destructive life based on existing DNA? If the latter it true then the Xeno from all the Alien(s) films is just one of possibly infinite versions of the creature. The classic xeno from Alien was derived from a non human source. An engineer perhaps? The new "proto" Xeno was based off human DNA(shaw). The head burster from milborn was worm based etc... Even the AVP Alien's were technically inline with the classic style(Derived from the same source as in the ALIEN films). I think this is where Ridley is going with the xeno. It's not the classic Alien creature we think of. There really is no xeno, only the black goo that spawns killer life forms that are stronger, faster amd more animalistic and savage than the life they are derived from. So... if this is the case then so far the biggest and baddest creature would be derived(meaning the facehugger/squid/whatever that impregnates) from the engineers DNA then hosted by an engineer as well. At the creatures core would be all the better qualities of the engineer and if an engineer played host to the chest burster it would pass on it's addtional size and strength to the xeno.
