I was gonna head over early this afternoon, but is that too early?

Are you serious... in the US it's packed with to the brim with lifeforms. One does not simple walk into Mordor...

Luckily for us in the UK, our cinemas are usually empty.
I was first in and chose back seats in the middle.
There were only 15 people at most in the cinema lol
Im guessing things are a lot different in the US though.

MOVE RIGHT NOW. Oh wait are you UK? Oh then leave whenever you like :P

ADH0983June 07, 2012
Yeah, I'm actually from the UK myself and never had to wait at all, but moved stateside a few years back and now finding people are lining up 6-8 hours in advance for films.

ADH0983June 07, 2012
No, I live in the states. My post clearly states "I'm going to the Burbank, CA, I-Max......"

WOW! 6-8 hour cues for a movie! Madness.
I was glad to just walk into an empty cinema at normal time and pick seats.

I mean you can reserve seats in most LA movie theaters, but the I-Max in Burbank doesn't do reserved seating, which SUCKS. So, I guess I'm gonna head there after lunch and hang around Burbank all day.
Usually I wouldn't do this, but I've waited too long for this movie and I don't want to be stranded off on one of the side tiers, I want a middle/upper seat.

DAMN, i only mention it cause when I checked out the theater in downtown MTL {There are 3 here} I discovered that of the 16 seats already taken, when they pulled up the map for me to let me choose, No one had chosen the "Symmetrical" center of the theater which I promptly did and now my friend an I can show up at 11:57 PM this evening and get an escort to the best damn seats in the entire theater at a time when the screen has been expanded for this night only to match the world record holder in Australia! I am "all Jacked Up on Mountain Dew, and about to go all Spider Monkey" on my neighbors"!

@Spartacus; I thought you were going to the Old Montreal one? The middle isle/middle seat is always the one I choose too! :)

they cannot show it there because the owner did not upgrade her equipment from Cameron' Avatar set up...She is upset about it too...says it costs too much for her right now, so Only three other IMAX theaters are showing it, St Catherine Street, 997 I think it is I posted it somewhere, Abordoli's thread is where, it's right between McGill and Peel streets...also at Cinema Guzo in Ville St. Laurent, and I forget the other Longeuille I guess!!!

Newtella was dubious about the print having been artificially enlarged for IMAX so we've opted for REAL 3D reserved seats at the Sundance Kabuki in San Francisco.
As of 10:30 AM Thursday the theater is disturbingly EMPTY for the 1:45 matinee tomorrow PM. Note, this is on a really big screen, but nothing like an IMAX experience in a new IMAX theater with stadium seats.

I suggest you call the theater in Burbank and ask how many seats are still available for tonight at 12:01(or whenever you're seeing it). If they're not even half sold out, you may not need to go that early. Of course, they may tell you that there is already a line. The LA area tends to be a bit more into the DRAMA of lines than the rest of the country. It's in their DNA. ;•)

No reserved seating by me in Podunk, PA. I did buy my IMAX 3D tickets yesterday, so as to skip the "waiting to buy" line, if there is one. Pretty excited to see this!

I'll be going Saturday night and I am not planning to get there super early. Maybe 30 minutes at most.
