Noomi Rapace...Too fruitcake?

No i did like her character ...maybe a bit monodimensional but played with extraordinary power and sentiment ...was not easy , she basically carry the emotional part of the movie on her shoulder ... i think she do great acting and was not easy at all ...

she did as well as the script would let her she's not the problem or her acting ability is not in question its the bloody script the poor girl had to deliver on.

I think she's fine. She's character has to be hard finaly same as Ripley. I like to see her in continue movie.

If she was meant to be English, she never got the accent right. Can't comment on whether it's her fault or the writer and director that she comes across as meek, pleading and weak in most situations where she should be showing some proper annoyance.

I don't think she was fruitcake - just very European... I think she was more than a little hamstrung by having to force a particularly unnatural English, "character", accent - when her normal, "Noomi", English voice sounds just fine - the delivery was stiff and she didn't seem able to relax into it , so I was struggling to work out who hell kind of English woman they had told her she was supposed to try and pretend to be - it needed a lot more work to be convincing.....from that perspective, it would probably have been better if they'd just made the Shaw character a Swede. I think her acting is beyond any question [i]at all[/i] - I think it was a poor accent and poor lines. She obviously wasn't always comfortable and I'd say that's why, but she can act her heart out - she is very, very watchable. There were a lot of very good actors in this.

During the Micahel and Charlize public chats - it was like Michael was saying to himself "please do all the talking Charlize, please don't make me speak and have to talk-it-up"

Was she supposed to be English? I didn't even notice!! She reminded me of a young Bork...
