archyboiJune 12, 2012Well, there's lots to talk about. First, Nietzsche's Also Spracht Zarathrustra is the reference Scott is using here with ironic dark humor. The famous line 'G-d is dead.' is to be found in it. The Sacrificial Engineer committed ritualized suicide to seed Earth with new life, wiping out the old protolife in favor of the Bio-Former transformed starter material of the Sacrificial Engineer's neo matrix. We are the products of the resurrection of the Sacrificial Engineer, our G-d who died for us. I'm choosing my words carefully here. I mean just what I said. No one seems to have made the connection to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn's Project Genesis. Scott is again showing his penchant for dark humor. It's no accident Weyland Corp is persuing its Project Genesis to find concrete proof of the Engineers' seeding Earth's new [neo] life matrix by the Sacrificial Engineer.
What does this mean? Well, I'm betting the Juggernaut I lone surviving Engineer said a lot before he tore David's head off. Or, he said a lot to David's head before he leaves for the Prometheus Life Boat after his ship is mortally wounded by USCSS Prometheus. Scott is tricky! Great editing. I'm also betting 10.11.12 at just before midnight is a release time of the extended version of the film with the longer conversation intact. Thus Spake Superman, indeed!
