A Question About The Engineers Neck

will have to see it again and expereince it..Who knows? Perhaps the goo eaffected them that way and others diffrent. that goo is one hell of a game changer

He did still have a portion of his bio-suit on. I think that's what it is.

im a little confused about what we are calling the bio suit. i kind of thought when they were wearing the things we see them running around in the holograms and the dead ones those are the bio suits (and in the pilot chair thing). but the one that gets woken up, i thought maybe that was actually his body because it looks like the bio suit still fits on top of it. (the arms i noticed have a different design than the suits worn by the dead ones and in the holograms etc. those ones look more like what we see in Alien-where the arms on the engineer that gets woke from hypersleep and the ones that were in the hologram with him look different to the other ones. i thought maybe these guys are differently bio engineered from the guy in the beginning. as if he would be like the pure/original engineer and these guys are like maybe engineered to be more armoured/military or something like that? when you look at where his head and neck has the gill looking slits it appears as though it blends into his body and is not an outfit, although that falls in line with a lot of Gigers style so maybe its still supposed to be a suit... im not saying it definitely isnt, im just posing the questions. any ideas about this? or has this already been explained elsewhere and ive just not found it?

I don't think it was a suit, but that's my opinion. I thought it was his body. Maybe they experiment on themselves. Who knows? And maybe the look of his body explains why we got such a xeno-esque creature to come out of him...

Yeah I didn't think he was wearing a suit, either. We know so little about the Engineers; I think it's safe to assume like humans, there are variations in social class, functions, and appearances. At this point, they're still mysterious and foreign, so they seem to all look the same.

Intersting. Few things I'd consider. These grey dudes are not engineers, but worker drones bred /cloned to be used for various dangerous dirty jobs that the Engineers want done. (being sacrificed to seed worlds , working on bio-weapons and making war) It would make sense that the ones bred for sacrifice don't have the modifications for using the biosuits. As for the suit argument... not sure. Just cos they're not wearing their exo suit, doesn't mean there isn't the equivalent of a flight suit underneath it, for the ship controls or stasis beds to interact with. he certainly seemed to be wearing a thin suit, and have a collar on it. The gills do seem to be higher up the neck than that thick collar though. But it was too brief to tell. Still, I'm inclined to think that there are different version of big grey dudes depending on what the Engineers want them to do.
