Relation to Alien

I don't know the names of the planets actually. So I want to know if Ripley(from Alien) and her crew find the Space Jockey/Engeneer on the same planet? If they do, they find him in his seat, and a hole in his chest. But Engeneer in Prometheus died in that shuttle by that giant "squid". So please tell me: Are planets in Promethus and Alien the same? If they are, how do they find ,in Alien, an Engeneer in his seat, with a hole in his chest if Engeneer in Promethus died in that shuttle?

Seriously, you couldn't even be bothered to google it instead of starting another thread? This has been asked and answered dozens of times. You realise that everytime someone posts a new thread, it pushes an older one off the front page... you probably just moved an interesting discussion off the page, because you couldn't bother to use a search engine and want to be spoon fed. Did you see either Movie? Alien is set on a small moon (1/3 as wide as our own) which is volcanically active, and called LV 426 Prometheus is set on a large moon, which is not volcanically active, has an atmosphere much like earths and is called LV 223. How hard would it have been to find that by yourself? - EDIT- I'm sorry if the above seems harsh. It probably reads harsher than it's intended perhaps I should have tagged it with [constructive criticism] tags the way people use [sarcasm] and [rant] tags. I don't disagree with anything I wrote here, but I'm sure I could have worded it a bit better.

According to David the plant was known to have many more ships. Maybe Nostromo simply discovers one of the other ships.

Mr. Yutani Alien: LV-426 Prometheus:LV-223 (its sister moon) Why do you call it a sister moon? They are not around the same planet or even in the same solar system. They are 10 light years apart.

Well I'm sorry if someone thinks I'm an ass. I don't have a go at people for having different opinions, but I find laziness very irritating. I think if someone is too lazy to google the [b]simplest thing[/b], and they bother complete strangers to ask, then who ever replies, can vent their annoyance as well as give the answer. It's not like this guy asked about any of the trickier parts thats open to interpretation. He asked if two moons, with different names, different atmospheres, that look nothing like each other are the same place. I mean, if he's already on the internet... google is his friend. I've enjoyed some of the very interesting discusions on here and they're hard to keep up with because so many duplicate threads are being created. I don't want to open them all up as soon as I spot one, cos then I have too many windows open. I have asked the admin if they could put up some "Sticky" threads like FAQs, so people won't be constantly creating the same thread over and over.

Interview with Ridley Scott: Can you talk about approaching how you wanted the technology to look in this movie? Because it’s unclear when it is relative to Alien, but this is more advanced technology that they are using. “Yeah, but I couldn’t help that, because I didn’t know, did I? For all intents and purposes this is very loosely a prequel, very. The very simple question was ‘Who the hell was in that ship? Who is sitting in that seat?’ and ‘Why that cargo?’ and ‘Where was he going?’ no one asked the question, so I thought ‘Duh.’ It’s a ‘duh,’ isn’t it? And then you say ‘But how did that ship evolve in the first Alien?’ Then I would say ‘Actually he’s one of the group that had gone off and his cargo had gotten out of control,’ because he was heading somewhere else and it got out of control and actually he had died in the process and that would be the story there. That ship happened to be a brother to the ship that you see that comes out of the ground at the end. They are roughly of the same period give or take a couple hundred years, right? Other than that, there’s no real link except it explains I think who may have had these capabilities, which are dreadful weapons way beyond anything we could possibly conceive, bacteriological drums of shit that you can drop on a planet and the planet… Do you know anything about bacteria? If you take a teaspoon and drop it in the biggest reservoir in London, which also scares the shit out of me, and amazes me that there are not huge guards around it… That’s the way to do it. You don’t do Nine-Eleven, you just get a teaspoon of bacteria, drop it in, and eight days later the water is clean and then suddenly on the eighth day the water goes dense and cloudy, but by then it’s been sent to every home and several million people have drunk it, you’ve got bubonic. It’s that simple. That’s how scary it is, so these evolutions of these guys who have developing galloping DNA. Your mind doesn’t allow you to accept that that may be feasible, that’s the deal.” Full interview: http://screenrant.com/interview-ridley-scott-prometheus-rothc-177916/
