RSAND #2 makes it #1 in the adult segment, that's how I see it. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if the staggered release schedule wasn't a bad move ...this way the film stays in the money bracket as each market/region opens...and if that's not the plan, it still posts up good over a period of time, instead of a big dropoff all of a sudden

# 2 is awesome, and surprising, given that even with its commercial gloss this is NOT a summer blockbuster. Thank God. PLEASE got on the sequel RS!

Cracked $200M Total Gross and i'm very happy with that. It nearly doubled it's budget so i'm sure there will be a second movie.

#2 is a perfectly fine position for this film -- again, given it's R rating! RS and Fox have to be pleased with this film's performance...and just wait until it opens in Germany, Japan and the other places! It's going to do very very well overseas I predict!!

Going into today (Friday 6.22.12) "Prometheus" has basically made $229 million. The film essentially has 10 markets in which it has yet to open or has just opened. There are also 6 markets of various size in which the film opened last week and for which ticket sales still have not been reported. The film will clearly make back both it's production budget and advertising budget well before the film is released for home rental and/or purchase. edit: I just noticed that many of the countries outside the US do not have up to date figures for ticket sales. A fair number of those countries last had their ticket sales updated back on 6/10 or 6/17, which shows that for various reasons the above figure of $229 million does not tell the whole story about Prometheus' ticket sales.

I'm going to see it again tomorrow with three others who have not seen it yet. And we'll be seeing it in 3D IMAX again (my second time)...

Nice privatehudson. 2x in IMAX is the way too go. The opening credits are just breath taking,no?
