ENGINEERS RUNNING...HERES A THEORY FOR YOU

Well that settles it....the guy infected was the last one running and falling is what it looked liked and that door was shutting permanently. In other words, the door doesnt back off if you are cuaght in the middle. It is on emergecny close...However, the head made it in and was infected as we find out later.

Ah truth is mostly much simpler and banal then you think.. i think they all had a bad meal and ran to toilette, but as highlander said "there can only be one..." And you know why this MUST be true? Well, IF someone would hunt them - why that hunter is not recorded? He? Dumb..

Yer but were the frig did they all go as they went into the head room and none were in there - one of the many annoying parts of this film hopefully we find out later!

Crabfart...another excellent point made...where did they go? Well, we never pursue that becasue we dont go exploring enough. Again, if this was a military or scientific mission, those things get investigated and documented period

Why were they running into the room that had pods of black goo in it? It might have been a air tight room, but why put the containers there if it's a safe zone? Maybe they were running towards a cure...

Lord The only reason I can think of them running into the goo pod room was that it was safe for them in there because they knew they wouldn't set off the pods like the humans did later....the pods were keyed for life forms other than Engineers

Although the engineer had the goo on his head and was already transforming him so that dont make sense Jett - so many messy facts I hope they got answers to all these things later on ! @Richie: surely who ever you are and especially if your david you would think: my mission is to find an engineer - I should find out were they went! Yet another annoying decision - maybe it was because they couldn't afford another set / room : D ...

Lordsoth...Heading ewither to the sleep chambers or to blast off and away is my only thouhgt. Of course the obvious is to get itnot a sealed off room. Crabfart...excellent point made. apparently David has to be told things "try harder"? You sort of get David being content becasue he carried out his purpose. He is leading the old man to what the old man wanted. No more and no less...the old man wanted to talk with the people in charge. Again fellows...look at this mission as a whim of a rich man. It makes no other sense any other way

NO doesnt make sense...they run from an infected engineer... who is the victim of a broken vile/container.. and gets infected....so they all run into a room at high speed full of the stuff that infected the other guy???? naaahhhhh!!!...and besides...it doesnt spread in the air....davids says it later on..when shaw is worried theres an airborne infection as regards holloway...they all still breathe without their helmets but your point is based on the engineers being suited and booted with breathing apparatus.... its far morle likely actually that these running engineers...where the pilots of the other ships..the only evidence weve got in 'Alien' and especially 'Prometheus' is that the elephant style suits wrap around the engineer in the pilots chair of the craft...but NONE of them left...as david says about the ships..there's lots of them...why couldn't they leave.....they where subject to a plot to SAVE life on earth by other Engineer types. who sabbotaged them by starting an outbreak of facehugger types or whatever type being it was and it was they where runnin from. we later see them or another group of elephant type suits of engineers with holes in their chests and heads...they where finally caught.. and killed....sabotage plan worked....earth gets another few thousand years until we wake the guy up...and he goes WTF are you doing here....

@Piston I think you're exactly right. Also, the Engineers ran into the chamber before the urns were placed in it. Their bodies were removed from the chamber, pobably thrown, and replaced with the urns. What did this? The xeno in the mural. It was a real xeno which is why it remained while everything else disintegrated.

Piston rules and is on track...I like the meeting of space ship pilots all in one place and then...bam something happens and the skee daddle like crazy..that makes sense....There is a lot going on there that just was not investigated

Piston... why would they be pilots? The pilot helmet is built into the chair remember? Perhaps the chamber atmosphere is kept cold and free of air to prevent activating the urns, and that's why they wear those suits, just like people working in biolabs wear protective suits. As for where they all went? Well did you notice that the 'Xeno Mural' seems to on a door, rather than a wall, and the pile of dead Space Jockeys seems to be against a similar shaped wall. Perhaps the other side of the same door? They are running from more than one thing, the infected engineer, perhaps, but he looks back, stumbles and gets right back up. He's scared too, but whatever he's running from wasn't out of shot of that particular playback.

hadleys hope....yeah the helmets built into the PILOTS with the rest of the bio suit in the chair you dont see them anywhere else ....secondly im not remotely interested in speculating about secret doors here and there when the movie did not allude to it....think on the points presented in the movie///think beyond the points if you have to but please steer clear from speculation about things not even in the film. NO the other space jockeys where either the same ones who where caught by these face hugging things when they tried to leave the room and tried to get into another room while being chased again and yes they are running from more than one thing a broken out nest of facehugger things... but the door was locked on them....look at them they've not been piled....they crawled over each other trying to get into the room and away from the facehuggers etc....but didnt....the last engineer...either closed the door on them intentionally to save the mission as a whole....or managed to make a genuine escape....and cryo'd himself awaiting back up...that didnt come as the sabotees seemed to destroy what was around and in LV223...its a war in the heavens dontcha know.

*Amended....yeah just because the suits are built into the chair doesn't mean they cant get up and walk....or even run (as we see in the movie) in them. and a last clear point the main engineer that we see looking back then falling..isnt the only one this happens too...when you first see the engineers one falls in THE MIDDLE of the pack and doesn't get up....they're being attacked. the other engineer looks back to see how much time hes got to get away...but doesnt make it...

[u].secondly im not remotely interested in speculating about secret doors here and there when the movie did not allude to it[/u] Yeah, you're right, just because the door with the dead bodies is the same shape, and because Fifield, when they are at that door says "we're near where Shaw found her head - the front door of the temple... should in no way suggest there was a back door. The dudes went in and teleported out. I'm sorry I ever brought up the possibility. Now, the sabotage... on the other hand... Where was that proof again?

@Piston thats absolutely brilliant man. i just seen it for the first time today as i work off shore makes so much sense but brilliant sense.... can totally see that play out.dunno what hadleys prob is takin it too serious. what does he mean teleported?...they came back out of the room didnt they? as you said...and then they where caught as they thought it was safe..... the hole in the chest area of one of the other cryopods in the engineer room would say that it burst out from there wouldn't it? and chased the other engineers who where pilots all together...caught and trapped.....so simple when you put it like that.
