One of my favorite scenes in the film, is the struggle between the last engineer and the trilobite at the med pod entrance. What do you guys think of the trilobite's design, intention, execution by the artists etc?

i think trilobite or facehugger is based on concept of vagina dentata.

Did anyone else think the CGI was a little bit obvious in the scene when it's going into the Enginner's mouth?

i thought it was a pretty good design myself. on educational television i have seen the insides of live squid such as gills and hearts and the first thing i thought of was that it looks like something from another world, and very reminiscent of some of the shapes and things you see in Giger artwork. of course it was still alive so everything was moving and pumping so it was very amazing and strange. definitely very "alien." i think Ridley Scott is right on with always researching nature for this kind of stuff. especially since in this case earth life is supposed to have been seeded by the engineers.
