Stasis technology loophole?

My question is two fold. First if we accept that STASIS technology suspends cellular decay/metabolism allowing crews and possibly perishables to survive long space, or temporal voyages intact, would it not also pause the gestation of an alien embryonic form in it's host organism? The other sarcophagi in the ship appeared to have holes blown in their covers suggesting that their contents were disturbed by an infestation. This can either be interpreted as the process doesn't affect gestation, or like Alien 3 the hosts were infected by the intrusion of an organism into the sarcophagus. I was merely wondering which theory is popular? I did note that the engineer technology apparently involved the attachment of various tubules to himself at different points which detached forcibly when David terminated the stasis, so perhaps their method is different than the one used by Weyland Corporation. Also before anyone flames me for duplicating a thread, I did put various Aliens affected by stasis, stasis/alien combinations and nothing came up.
