Getting paid

I was wondering about how the Prometheus crew earned their wages. In Alien Parker makes a big issue out of how the bonus system works and liked to drag short jobs out to maximize wages. Could this mean that crews would only be paid from the moment they come out of stasis ? Another reason for thinking about this is that there could be the implication of having crews etc. in stasis for decades and never using them until they are needed. I think there is a whole range of questions about the moral implications of controlling how long someone is in the service of a company like Weyland, and would crews ever get to really know each other.

I think contract basis? Half before the work and half after the completion of the work. I can't think of any better deal.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

There was also that notion of "Shares" mentioned in Alien. Parker and Brett were always complaining about not getting the same shares as the officers on the ship. Although that could have just been a clever way to work in a little foreshadowing and have Ripley say "Don't worry, you'll both get what's coming to you" :)

Yes something along 1/2 now and more if you are actually used on this trip. With some crew members never having/wanting to go 'home to earth' there must be some Interstellar playgrounds..for adults...Las Vegas with credits earned.....
