Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

A darker point of view

After taking a look at the concept art I would dare to say Prometheus would be many times more dark and grim than it actually is. I've noticed some of you folks even prefer the concept art to the actual movie... I tend to agree, since it reveals a lot more aesthetic venues and interesting alien art work than it's portrayed in the movie [and by alien i'm not saying ALIEN the movie]. Too bad many of those things weren't used. They show a lot of the SJs cultural related ideas and universe.

From what you guys are saying here on forum after watching the movie. I guess the art that you guys wanted to see will fade away with each sequel, IMO. I could be wrong with this guess but with prometheus, they tried to uncover the mystery which was there during alien -1 and now that part is covered, anything after that will not be as grim and mysterious as we expect. There's a saying.."Never meet your gods(insert heroes or idol), to what you end up hating for being what you expected" . (I was unable to translate this from local language to english, so please excuse me on that).

True, we have the same saying here [or relatively close to it].

More dark? Possibly. More grim? Arguably. Better? Personally, I don't have any question. I almost think there should be a new class of offence, specifically created for what took place, here.

I mean, personally, I find almost every concept or idea that was not in the film, seems to be somewhat better and more interesting than what did end up in the film. On top of that, I was suggesting that I find the fact a crime - [while I was, of course, being facetious in saying that, the general feeling is genuine]. In general terms: I agree with you.

Ahh - yes, I can see how that could be...I phrased poorly. That's quite funny.

Why don't you guys post some pics of your favorite un-used concepts so we can discuss them? There are a few obvious choices like the different versions of Fifield and such. I'd like to see some of the less obvious concepts that you guys would have preferred. Personally, I like what they used in the film and while I've read the Art of the Film about 5 times, I really haven't seen anything that I preferred much more than what was used.

Engineering: It's hard to pick one but the ones from the interior of the Juggernaut and Temple were sick.

Mystery has its own mysteries, and there are gods above gods. We have ours, they have theirs. That is what's known as infinity. Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) French author and filmmaker.
