StarBeast verses Prometheus

Hi fader I read the script too and there were lots of similarties It could be just that Ridley drew on those past ideas or it could be linked........... It was interesting the there was simliar Heiroglyphs on the walls and the eggs were in there kept under certain environmental conditions what is weird is those conditions suit humans very well......

there is always the possibility of more inteliigent life forms out there, making things tick. I agree. What if we get to meet some creature within our lifetime? Big game changer there for everyone.

Parts of this were definately what Dan O'Bannon envisioned when he wrote the original script, and I was happy to see those things FINALLY make it onto the screen, but I kinda feel too much time was spent trying to distance itself from the original while using the same characters (Space Jockey/Engineers) and it needed another half hour run-time at least

so in alien was the eggs cavern part of the ship? or part of this pyramid from star beast?!

In Dan O'Bannon's original screenplay the eggs were meant to be discovered in a pyramid, but because of budget and time constraints it was re-written so that the eggs were found in a silo/chamber underneath the pilots room of the derelict Engineer craft. Recently Ridley Scott ended 33 years of debate, stating that the eggs in Alien were the derelicts cargo, and that the silo/chamber was part of the derelict itself. Despite this, some fans still ascertain that the silo/chamber was too big to be part of the ship, which is in itself interesting when you take into account that the silo/chamber set was composed using the same set pieces for the pilots room above.

I think the Alien ship was enormous and very different in design than the Prometheus juggernaut. A destroyer ship vs. a carrier... still ships but totally different mission tasks... ex navy here...

Hey Tankgirl, if I’m not mistaken, were not the eggs in a vessel, like Prometheus black goo? When the guy entered from the top of the dark pyramid, he saw canisters or vessels, then was studying the murals of different creatures on the walls, then he heard a noise and look to see that the top of one those vessels came off...? @Freeze, are you talking about the movie or real life.....?, cuz if real life..? it would be the biggest game changer forever & ever.... I read that there is some 7-8 different ET’s out there from different races if you can believe such a thing is real, regarding the movie and sequels I really hope it goes way beyond the Xeno’s and engineers.... @ Cypher, I agree w/you 100%... in Alien I was far more interested in the SJ than Kane’s son the xenomorph, but that was the terror plot of the movie.... however, it may have been more terrifying if another infected SJ was on the ship and was accidently awoken by Dallas, Kane and Lambert chasing them around and the SJ gets on the Nostromo, then intro the Xenomorph, imo @Vickers8, I always thought that the eggs that Kane discovered was in a cavern of sorts, but after reading StarBeast, perhaps the derelict ship landed on top of this pyramid in Alien @David1 I agree @Snorkelbottom, I agree @ Bruce Chuck Patch, I thought both ships were pretty much of the same size, in Prometheus however you actually see more of the Juggernaut, and it’s huge imo. I would like to see a floor plan of both ships, the Prometheus and the Juggernaut. I did come across a basic floor plan of the Nostromo, can’t remember where I came across it, but it was on the internet.... if I can figure out how to load a picture onto this site, I’d put the Nostromo’s floor plan on here
