This is what I think the puzzle is that Ridley Scott was attempting. VERY IMPORTANT: This goes the same for every theory posted on here: J U S T B E C A U S E, some of you don't agree with one theory or another, doesn't mean that it wasn't the intention of the director. So alot of people on here, and on many forums for that matter, need to STOP. And think about the differences between what the director intended to be the secret behind everything, and what you personally decide SHOULD HAVE been the outcome. Personally I would have liked to see the original Alien tie-in script turned into the movie. But Ridley must have been going for something grander here, and I actually think it's very enjoyable, and a direct Alien tie in would have just wound up making us want more and more, until we got tired of it again like we did with Resurrection.
