MemberOvomorphJul-26-2012 2:46 AMAlso, I've just re-read Philip K Dick's VALIS novel (twenty years since I first read it) and PKD states that MARCH was the birth month of (Space) Jesus.
Or rather (PINK BEAM OF LIGHT from Zebra/Valis) Jesus.
And PKD suggests that Space(time) Jesus has BEEN NOTIFIED by Valis on several occassions through history, and how the EMPIRE NEVER ENDED.
PKD suggests that TIME HAS STOOD STILL since the death of J.C. -- thought you might find this interesting -- in Valis, the 'neo-Jesus' is now a girl and she's MURDERED by an artist, musician.
Gah, games, eh? Whodathunk that people who don't normally THINK about this stuff would be racking their brains over 'what Prometheus means'.

MemberOvomorphJul-26-2012 2:47 AMThe girls pretty sharp. But one thing that bothers is that many many writers mess religion with sci-fi and stuff like i.e. Matrix. I just don't like it. I f we are in the world of sci-fi it's different from ours. Sorry for the nag, BTW thanks for the link FP :)

MemberOvomorphJul-26-2012 9:32 AMI love it. A most excellent review about not getting the answers we all wanted with Prometheus! Well.... a lot of us anyway!

Custodian
MemberOvomorphJul-26-2012 10:47 AMI don't care about the REVIEW (fun though she is) I care about the THREE MONTHS tie-in,
1) we're THREE MONTHS into the year of our Lord
2) we're THREE MONTHS into the pregnancy of our virgin Queen, Shaw.

MemberOvomorphJul-27-2012 10:34 AMWouldnt three months into the 2023 year be MARCH?!?! The TED talk was in February according to the weyland timeline!?
"In a now legendary TED Talk, Sir Peter Weyland clarifies his vision for Weyland Industries, laying the groundwork for the next 50 years of Building Better Worlds.
FEBRUARY 28, 2023"
So messy! If they cant line up things like that what else has been missed! Unless I misunderstood something?

MemberOvomorphJan-08-2013 8:49 AMAlthouhg there may be some connection to New Years Day and our story goi back 2,000 years(give or take) New years Day was March 1st. December was the 10th month of the year.
That would be sort of fitting to follow the old calendar into the the futurist setting of our movie.
Was there even a Calendar in the earlier Egyption times when the Bird like figures would have been used?
We can assume that Shaw is speaking ov our current day based calendar but note there is some historcal precident for different Day 1s of a year.
