MemberOvomorphAug-30-2012 12:18 AMSo, I volunteered at my local Goodwill the other day. I was taking in donations when a car pulled up with a box full of toys. I started to check them out and noticed they had a ton of the Kenner Alien and Predator figures from the '90s. Being an Alien fan and a collector I got excited. The manager asked me what I was looking at and I explained that I was a fan and that I thought they were cool. He then let me pick out a bunch of them to keep!
I dig the figures but I never would have actually bought them so it's really cool to be able to have gotten them. I'm into more high-end collectables. They are cool though. That Kenner line was crazy. They did some really funny takes on the xeno. Here's a pic of the one's I got...

The "boar" xeno on the far left is my fave. You push his head down and the spikes pop out. Push his head up and they retract. The xeno with wings cracks me up. The wings flap when you push a button. His little t-rex arms are hilarious!

Art DirectorMemberOvomorphAug-30-2012 1:57 PMI have an old Alien/bull with a spring loaded neck...
What I never undstood that, although Kenner tried with a line of toys from Aliens (anyone remember the rolling" power-loader), wouldn't such ties (cartoons & comics regardless) Encourage the film to an audience that was too young to see it? I mean the toys were aimed at kids and not collectors... I guess that is the difference between Alien & Aliens... one is the unkown phsycologcal fear and the darkness we hold in our imagination and the other is more accesible to just be quantified by what we know (bees & Ants) and be a "pop" monsties that could be sold to kids...
Never the less, a great hall!

Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

AdminPraetorianAug-30-2012 12:40 PMThey made TONS of toys like that after the movie "Aliens" came out in 1986. Then the comics came out with all the diff types featured in the stories, the coolest was a snake xeno.

MemberOvomorphSep-02-2012 1:53 AM@Engineering: I have a few of these at home too. My favorite one is the Boar Xeno as well. So cool you got these; you keep those precious Xenos in your collection :) The one with the funny tiny T-Rex arms was called the Flying Alien Queen (they really pushed it ;) )
@Svanya: The Snake Xeno is quite cool as well !!
@Xenomorph 54: The giant red Facehugger was called the Queen Facehugger.
