What is the suit made of?

Watched the movie last night out of boredom. Realized the engineer took two close range shotgun blasts to the chest. It didnt do any damage at all? The suit seems to be skin thight and organic. Would an engineer without the suit recieve damage? I mean they are mostly human after all. Why would they still be using primitive weapons in 2093 :bored:. Your inout?

Looks like a biosuit, grafted to their skin. Wouldn't be surprised if it was derived from xeno DNA as well. Just the look is very xeno, and it seems to be tough and resilient. The engineers seem to have broken down xeno DNA for the urns, so it makes sense they could have other applications for it's use.

I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

*ahem this http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/7001&page=4 see Sentinels post near end of thread. Are the Engineers gardening their hosts (us) so that they can grow their livestock, the Xeno? Are the Xeno a derivative of a species superior to the Engineers? Maybe they are like the Morlocks in the movie "The Time Machine", they canabalise humans. Remember the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man"?
