Belladonna I think it was before the credits. Why I remember a line of text saying Ridley was picked up 6 weeks later I don't know . Please don't think me discourteous for saying it but the link to youtube you suppied in on the page you supplied isn't working . Thanks for your kindness. I really appreciate it. Why is this worrying me ? Well in aliens it was 57 years before Ridley was discovered. If James Cameron based alien on only what was seen in the movie alien then doesn't aliens contradict the 6 weeks period ? I am probably wrong. Thanks for your help belladonna. I dont think ridley was picked up but ripley might have been :D - always thought those two names were too close to be coincidence ! And I am not sure if there was any text like that - might check my dvd later :P ...

Tell you what I just found this :O : Was there originally an alternative ending? Yes. The film was originally going to end with Ripley simply escaping in the shuttle and the Alien dying aboard the Nostromo as it self-destructed. However, Ridley Scott then conceived of a 'fourth act' in which Ripley had to face the Alien again, as it had managed to stow away aboard the shuttle. His intention was to end the movie on a dark note, with the Alien biting Ripley's head off, and then mimicking her voice as it made a final log entry. He convinced the studio to allow for extra budget and filming days. The studio agreed, but only on the condition that the Alien would still die at the end. That is how the current ending came about. Erm first I heard of that! Interesting! Not sure how I would take the alien speaking like ripley :O depends on how they done it -weird!

Lucky for you, i've seen the film too many times to count, so here's what is said at the end, by Ripley, just after she blows the alien out of the god damn airlock: "Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo. 3rd officer reporting. The other members of the crew, Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas are dead. Cargo and ship destroyed....I should reach the frontier in about 6 weeks, with a little luck the network will pick me up....This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off." Then she says to Jonesy the cat, "Come on cat" THE END. No text comes up on a screen at the end. I think that happened in Alien 3.
