RT01 Transporter...

For a crew size of 17..the Transporter has room for all of the crew members and Engineers they might find! It seems a bit oversized for their needs,,Perhaps just being prepared for anything..might be an answer.

Nope. The group transporter has four seats up front and six in the rear. That's why they had two of them, plus some other stuff.
